(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 20 Aug 2014) Reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of rye bread, caramel, dried fruit and spicy hops. Malty, fruity taste with caramel, dark rye bread, orange peel, dried fruit, a touch of brown sugar and a spicy bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Quite nice.

(Draught at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 20 Aug 2014) Reddish amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of crisp-bread, toast, orange peel and roasted grain. Malty, roasted taste with crisp-bread, apricots, toast and a balanced spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Balanced, tasty and well made vienna. Quite nice.

30cl bottle: brewed in 2012. Opened and drank during a ’Dutch Beer Evening’ on 31st Oct 2014. Poured slowly into a Westvleteren Trappist chalice at home and shared with no one. Ruby edges to the dark body, a soft, deep tanned blanket sat on top, sediment could be seen floating within the beer: I allowed it to slowly settle, while taking a sniff and occasional sip. Heavy brew with plenty going on: the nose is boozey and Port like, sweet and malt/fruity. The taste is very similar to the aroma, Port, malty and alcoholic with a dark fruitiness. Almost ’barrel aged’ sort of feel to the beer, some spirit type flavours within the ones already mentioned (Port, malt, dark fruits). Very, very drinkable for a bloke like me with a sweet tooth. Rich, full bodied and a joy to have found.

Bottle picked up in Netherlands, September 2014. Consumed at home Friday 31st October 2014. Pours dark conker Brown in colour with beige rim. Malty nose, quite chewy toffee, easy drinking for 10% must admit I was surprised at the abv. Dark sticky fruits, actually I am getting a boozibess come through now, warming. A little sweet, is that the hops just peeking through? It’s not bad. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

30 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Hogerdijk, Culemborg. Brown with a huge beige head. Malty aroma with some caramel. Nice old-fashioned full bodied bock.

Bottle. Golden with white head. Lots of sweet spices, ginger- and banana bread, marmalade, fresh dough and lots of yeast. Light hops in the finish. Quite sweet with yeasty bitter finish. Full bodied. Ok

Bottle. Nice dark reddish brown with small off white head and lots of bubbles. Massive red fruits, red apple, caramel, malts. Also surprisingly strong aroma hops with light lemon. Some yeasty spices. Light sweet, very fresh feel for a 10% quadrupel. Pretty strong carbonation. Very nice take on the style.

Bottle @home. Brown colour with lots and lots of (off-white) head. Smells sweetish, malts. Tastes sweet, raisins, dark malts. Nothing special. Full body, slightly warming, medium carbo.

Nice Amber/copper with bubbly white head. Sweet malts, caramel, biscuits, dried apricots. Quite sweet but with a fruity tartness and light bitter finish. Medium bodies with full creamy carbonation. I quite like this, well balanced and very drinkable.
