Red-brown colour. Aroma has plenty of malt and some sweet red fruits. Flavour is a bit bland but has some muted caramelly malts and sweeter fruity elements from the hops.

On cask at the Grosvenor. Appearance - amber with a decent head. Nose - a lovely mix of peach, mango and lime against a spicy biscuit background. Taste - more of the spicy biscuits but not so much tropical fruit. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a balanced dry finish. Overall - stunning nose. It tailed off but still good.

Bottle split at JF’s from the big Tesco in Camberley, 11/09/14. Dark chestnut brown with ruby-esque hues topped with a moderate light beige covering, not very black! Nose is dark malts, spice, earthy hop notes, pine dusting. Taste comprises red berry fruit, spice, earthy hop vibes, red grapefruit, light floral notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with earthy hop bitterness and a pine coating. Adequate CDA, just about ticks the style boxes, doesn’t need the mahoosive write up mind!!!

50cl bottle from Tescos, Camberley. A pleasant surprise. A reddish mahogany colour with a cream head, rather than the black drink I was expecting; some floral citrusy hops on the nose; then a fruity blackberry taste with some licorice adding depth and dryness; and a well rounded finish with sustained bitterness. Well done - a proper grown up beer from Wychwood.

50cl bottle from Tescos, Camberley. An attractive pale gold pour with a billowing white head; floral aroma with a trace of yeast; soft, dry and fruity in the mouth; with a gently herbal finish giving a touch of peppery heat. Very well made - the best Banks’s beer I’ve tried in a long while.
