Cask handpull at Craft Beer Co. Clear gold. Ginger aroma. Bit of lemongrass bit of chilli bite on end. Not great nick. Ginger and chilli on finish is pleasant. Drunk whilst talking to the brewer.

Cask handpull at Craft Beer Co. Mid clear brown colour with sparse off white head. Yes some hops but some caramel too and do I detect a hint of diacetyl? Not great nick and not my kinda beer. A smooth caramel butter affair with some bitter hops.

Cask handpull at Craft Beer Co. Mid brown copper colour with lasting beige head. Hoppy pale ale. Good cascades. Tasty easy drinking great condition. Really drinkable. some yeast on aroma.

Like the label! Small but good yellow-tan head over black beer with red-brown highlights. Very roasted to burnt stout-nose, but lacking the typical acidity, or nearly so. Overroasted peanuts. Sweetish, lots of cigarette ash, lightly smoked. Finish has something salty, seafood. Medium bodied, grist slickness. Nice stout, quite rounded.

Cask at the Euston Tap, London. Pours dark, amber-red with a tight, creamy cap. Aroma holds subtle, resinous pine and herbs, light earth and caramel. Flavor is sweet with warm bread notes, toffee and caramel, pine, grapefruit, some ripe berries. Medium bodied with fine, smooth carbonation. Sticky, resinous bitter finish, toasty malts and sugar, further caramel and toffee, and lasting pine. Very solid beer.

Cask at The Euston Tap, London. Pours clear yellow with a fizzy, white head. Lots of ginger in the aroma. Medium sweet flavor, spicy, plenty of gingery, some light hay bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, some sugar, short linger ginger. A very decent ginger beer.

Cask at The Euston Tap. Pours a clear brown with a tight and foamy, off-white head. Loads of pine in the aroma, with faint soap. Great flavor, medium sweet, lots of juicy hops, pine (not too resinous), nice roasted malts, melon, grapefruit and grass. Medium in body with fine, smooth carbonation. Mild sticky finish, good balance, lingering pine and roasty earth. Hints of burnt cocoa. Really good beer.

Bottle 500ml.Clear dark black brown colour with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, burnt, chocolate, coffee, dark dried berries, raisin, peat, smoke. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, dark roasted, dark dried berry, licorice, berry - raisn tart notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110805]

Bottle at Papsø tasting. pitch dark, small light brown head aroma is dark malty, very slightly caramelly, but straight dark malty. flavor is woody, sourish, winey. barrel ruins the aroma.

Bottle at RBESG 2011 Grand Tasting at The Dean Swift, London. Pours brown with a big, foamy tan head. There’s a mild roastiness that pervades the character, along with a sour twinge to the malts. Lightly sweet. Light to medium bodied with high carbonation. Mild sweet finish, faint roast and perhaps tart fruits. OK, just a little odd.
