440ml can – Pours a clear golden colour with an average sized foamy white head. The aroma is light malty grain, hoppy with some tropical fruit notes. A light sweet taste, cereal grains, fruit and grass with a hoppy bitter finish.

Nice stuff! Quite fruity hoppiness for a lager. Almost something a little Belgian about it.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Premier Hop. Pours blackish-brown with a staunch, tight, frothy beige head. Medium sweet flavour with rich dark malts, bitter dark chocolate, sturdy roast, dark berries, raisins. Medium to full bodied with fine, slightly fizzy carbonation. Lightly warming finish, some sticky dark malts, more ashy roast, dried dark fruits, baking cocoa. Very nice.

Can purchased online from Hoptimism and drunk at home. Lighy yellow/gold, clear. Not a lot of head. Lemon and hay in the aroma with bready and skunky notes. Smooth sweet taste with a light citrus bite midway through. Long balanced finish. Low to medium carbonation. It's a decent pils but doesn't blow me away.

Can from Westhill Service Station. It pours jet black with a decent khaki head. The aroma is earthy roast, umami, charred wood, burnt toast, peppery spice, cacao nibs, coffee grounds, tobacco and liquorice. The taste is firmly dry, hit of bitterness, cacao nibs, earthy, woody, ashy, charred action, umami, coffee grounds, peppery spice, liquorice and toasted brown bread with a dry roasted finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. A nice example of a proper dry stout. So far for me Newbarns can do no wrong.

Can courtesy of Craig cheers Craig! had this sat at Kostas's Apartment in München Tuesday 15th December 2020. Pours hazy gold with a white head, fruity, hoppy, the hoppiness coming through. Tangy a little lemony, possibly a little more simple than expected. This is very good.
