500mL bottle. Pours very deep brown with small beige head. Aroma has vanilla, pepper, cocoa, cinnamon. Flavour has vanilla, gentle cocoa, cinnamon, some bourbon. The habanero results in an astringent finish. Fairly smooth mouthfeel. Not bad, but the habanero is messing up the aroma and flavour of the beer. The profile is just really weird and not really working for me.

500mL bottle. Pours black with minimal tan head. Aroma has balsamic, blackberries, rye whiskey, and dough. Flavour has a ton of balsamic vinegar up front, tart blackberries. The nose is pretty pleasant, but the flavour is a mess with way too much acidity. Also surprisingly thin for a high ABV stout.

500ml @ Matt's new place. Appearance: dark brown with a dark beige head. Aroma: lots of blackberry seeds that remind me of cinnamon, some barrel. Taste: along the same lines, roasty bitterness, some acidity, good body. Not really balanced. Overall: it's weird and not very good, but not very bad either.

Poured from 500mL bottle. Very dark brown with small tan head. Jammy blackberry balsamic. Not egregious like some of the others think. It's fine. Okay.

Dark brown. No head. Some rye barrel up front, but then there's a blackberry that comes in. It has some tartness, lots of blackberry, not sure where the stout comes into play here. Some sugars. A bit of chocolate, but it's probably better as a cooking beer...you could do a lot with this in the kitchen.

500mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is full of balsamic, tart blackberries, and maybe some miscellaneous barrels. Flavour is jammy, with intense balsamic glaze, tart blackberries, and weird doughnut notes. I mean, it's not awful, but why makes such a thing? What a travesty.

Dark brown colour, it seems opaque. Aroma of chocolate, earth, spirit. It's full bodied, sweet, dark chocolate, a sour fruit touch that adds dynamics, warming alcohol. This is rich, and very good.

16oz (thx, Brian C.!) @ Alex's. Appearance: dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: nice bourbon, chocolate, some vanilla character, maybe some fruity acidity from cherries. Taste: along the same lines, noticeable bourbon and American oak, chocolate, vanilla notes, definitely some cherries but they are nicely integrated. Overall: very nice. Last 3 beers I've had from the brewery forced me to change my mind about it. I avoided it for a couple of years but I am glad to get back to it after Brian expressed his opinion regarding the quality of the recent releases.

Dark brown, near black, very small head. Aroma of vanilla, old wood, chocolate. Thick mouthfeel, it's very sweet; flavour of brown sugar, caramel sauce, vanilla, light sour note, old wood, very light tobacco; smacking lips.
It's rich, very good.

16oz (thx, Brian C.!) shared with Ryan @ Alex's. Appearance: very dark brown with a a nice beige head. Aroma: nice mix of vanilla, chocolate, American oak, and bourbon. Taste: along the same lines, slight strange bitterness that maybe coming from a vanilla overuse or hops or roasted malt. Overall: pretty good overall.
