Description
All three of us started homebrewing at various times but at the peak we would meet up as a brewing group in Vancouver, BC and have a helluva time brewing together. On these brew days we would invite all our friends and neighbors and fire up the barbeque. Long days were spent creating, consuming and discussing our passion....beer.

Over time, the group all went in various directions, a few ultimately started local breweries, others just continued to practice drinking beer. This project reunites three of us from those days and we want to access that community feeling again but bigger this time. We love well made beer and art that doesn't take itself too seriously, so that's what this is about, those two things and the people who feel connected to them.

Can. Hazy medium orange body and pretty good foam. Good papaya and soft orange juice on the nose. Taste is a tangy papaya, vague cracker on the back end, rather smooth but also a little wet for something like this. Still pretty good, an enjoyable IPA.

Poured from 473mL can (date stamped 2022 Apr 21). Dull murky blonde with white head. Lots of gooseberry, light grapefruit hops, touch of chalk. Decent.

Opaque and a dullish sort of pale. Thin head. Bright lychee, gooseberry and semi-dry apricot on the nose. So lots of hops. Big bodied for its size, and with a fair bit of bitterness. That brings more grapefruity hop notes into this, along with the lychee and stone fruit connection. The malts are a bit on the drier side, but decent, and while it's a touch yeasty it's nothing too crazy there. So fairly good balance.

Opaque. Thin head. Weedy aroma, some stewed fruits in there, too. On the palate, similar stewed fruit - low level diacetyl, that is to say - and some cannabis hop notes as well. Malts are thin and lacking character. Just kind of dull. Alcohol shows way too much. It's okay, but there's some execution issues here.

Poured from the tap. Hazy dull gold with small white head. Tons of berry, subtle tartness underlies with just a hint of hops, quite smooth. Enjoyable, perhaps it could be a little more balanced (less berry dominant), but still nice.

Hazy and pale. Not much head. Mild acidity, light orangey hop notes, and it's a touch vinous. But all round kind of middling.

Pale and hazy. Thin head. Big dank aroma. Fair bit of bitterness, some sulphur, light pale malt. Hops lack distinctiveness. Not bad though.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Pale blond colour, cloudy to muddy. The aroma is mildly lemony, but then there is a nice dank note appearing. The mouthfeel is dry, and basically free from chalk, that's already a good achievement; the malt base is a bit wheaty and oaty (creamy), but also with some crispy vibe; the hopping is good, balancing some pungent piney character and some bitter tropical fruit, and indeed the bitterness is balanced as well; so, it's not a juicy and sweet Hazy, and it's much softer than a West Coast IPA.
Very good.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 2022-01-26). Cloudy, pale yellow with small white head. Bright, yet subdued tropical notes - passionfruit, pineapple; a little bit of citrus. Really nice.

Opaque, with a big fluffy head. Big hop aroma with lemon, pineapple, and pear notes. Sweetish pale malts up front, and those get breadier towards the finish. There's solid tropical fruit hop accents in there, and moderate hop bitterness. Good balance on this.
