Description
Fat Head's was founded in 1992 as a premiere craft beer tap house and restaurant in Pittsburgh, PA. In 2009 we expanded to Ohio and teamed up with our award-winning Head Brewmaster Matt Cole. With the explosion in popularity came the necessity to open a full-scale production brewery in 2012. Fat Head's Brewery produces original ales and lagers for distribution throughout Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.
Our Tap House offers Samples, Flights, and Fresh-brewed Pints! Sit right in the heart of our facility and enjoy the freshest beer from our tanks to your pint glass. We have a 16 tap draft system, bar seating, picnic tables, and some seriously tasty grub to go with it.

Dark brown with a medium sized foamy head. Phenolic, bready, leathery and a bit fruity. Long finish. Medium body.

Sampled on draft at the Pittsburgh location this beer poured a dark brown color with a small beige head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was candied fruits, sugar, caramel and tangy malts. The flavor was a bit tart with sugar, candied cherries and pears, caramel, nut, yeast and licorice notes. The finish was long and sugary with lingering ripe fruits. Thick and full bodied. There was an odd presence that reminded me of the Unibroue house yeast character. Quite nice.

Pour is plain old clear pale yellow. Lots of bubbling carbonation continually visible within. Nose has just a hint of lime. Taste also has just a hint of lime but the lime comes thru a little strong on the aftertaste. Not as much carbonation on the finish as the visual co2 would indicate. Nothing special here, just a fairly clean well behaved brew. Some rude lime peel bitterness surfaces toward the end. Not bad overall.

$2 can from JR's. Pour is totally clear pale with a big white foaming head. Smell is IPA perfumed laced oranges, somewhat artificial tangerine. Taste is chewing on green tangerine peels. Very bitter, long lasting, mouth coating. Very rude. But I guess if you like IPA you may like this bitter stuff. OK, so think medium terribly on style IPA with ground up green tangerine peels all blended together in a food processor. Big fat straight up yuk. Somebody give me an ice cold cheap pale lager for a chaser.

12 ounce can from Total Wine Lexington Green, shared with hershiser2! Clear amber, large creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of leafy, herbal hop, citrus. Taste is dank, green, minty hops followed by grapefruit. Tad bit thin. Nice.
