Bottled at Horsens Beerfestival. Clear, pale golden with a small white head. Lemony, hoppy aroma. The flavor is quite hoppy and fruty as well. MEdium body. A nice quaffable beer but a bit on the hoppy side to me, meaning it lacks a bit of balance. (061028)

Bottled at Horsens Beerfestival. Clear, pale golden with a small white head. Quite hoppy aroma with grapefruit. The same goes for the flavor, but there’s pine there too. Medium body. Lacks balance in my opinion. (061028)

Pint on cask. Perfect served temperature. Hazy amber with a reddish or ruby tint to it. Dark malty aroma. Spicy flavour containing dark fruit and a nice bitterness in the aftertaste. Medium to full bodied (Guest ale at The Greyhound in Ipswich 22.09.2006).

Bottled, Case purchased at Majestic, Bicester, 02-10-06. Wonderful dark brown with a nice creamy head. Pleasant warming flavoursome beer that had plenty of rich malts and fruits swishing around. The bottle describes it as having a strong nutty flavour, I’m not quite sure it was a strong nutty flavour but there was some nuttiness there. Very smooth good full bodied beer that will be even more pleasing as the nights continue to draw in.

Bottle, thought I’d rated this some time ago but as I’d picked up one amongst others from SH Jones Bicester 23-09-06 I may as well rate it here. A warm golden colour you can get hops in the aroma but not much. Taste is a bit unbalanced and not at all like the cask version bitterness seems to be a bit unchecked and ends up becoming one of the main features masking all else, some maltiness little sweetness but as already mentioned they are drowned out by the bitterness. Ok but not great

Bottle picked up at SH Jones in Bicester 16-09-06. Golden beer with white frothy head, citrusy nose with hops also some citrus and fruitiness in the taste which in fact is very good in this bottle form, plenty of flavour and nice well balanced bitterness, very moreish.

Cask Conditioned at Charlie’s Pub, Copenhagen
Hazy amber color. Light aroma of grassy hops and sugars. Strange flavor, some malt, bold bitterness, woody stringency, almost vinous and corky. A bit odd.

Hazy amber color. The aroma is a bit sour; the flavor is quite light, an easy sample, light malt, quite strong bitterness, very light off-flavor. Infected?
