Description
Many moons ago, in the black of the night, Viking invaders were about to attack our hometown of Stirling, when a howling wolf alerted the defenders, who saved the town. We raise a glass to that wolf. The Black Wolf.

Started brewing in January 2004 using the name City of Stirling Brewery. It was initially a sister brewery to Bridge of Allen and Trossachs Craft Brewery. During late 2005 a new company was formed to allow further investment and the brewery name was changed to just Stirling Brewery at the same time. The name then changed to Traditional Scottish Ales Ltd in 2006. The name changed once more in 2014 to its current version.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are caramel, fruits, nuts, nice dry hops and malt.

Bottled@fonefan. Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is metallic, some butterscotch and mild flloral notes. Flavour is caramel, some grains, a bit harsh floral bitterness to it.

50 cl bottle @ Sankt Hans Tasting, Ulfborg.
Aroma is odd and musty with baking stuff, toffee and candy. Flavour has diacetyl, butter, toffee and some grapefruity hops. Not that good, the hops are nice though.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, dark malts and light buttery. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Sweet finish. 200615

Bottle from Cocktail’s, Littleborough as TSA Wild Oat Stout. Black with no head. It’s not quite full, but its roasted malt is more than evident in both aroma and taste.

Bottle from Robroyston Asda, Glasgow, Scotland, Wednesday 17th June 2015 consumed at Craigendmuir campsite, Stepps, Glasgow the same day. Black in colour with a light beige head which is a little sticky, plenty of coffee, it’s also a touch creamy, just a tinsy bit thin in the mouth. Good. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Fabricada por una destileria y fermentada en barrica de roble donde macera el whisky. Sin duda le da su caracter especial, tanto en el aroma como en el sabor. Bien de textura y de cuerpo. Color miel y espuma poco abundante. Sabor malteado, algo alcohólico. Curiosa. Merece ser probada.

Cask-conditioned at the Cornubia, Bristol, 23/4/2015. Near black with a slight, off-white, head. Sweet, dark beer, with plenty of dark fruits and chocolate, before a gentle finish. Fine.
