Half pint, hand pulled cask at New Oxford, Salford. Filmy, white layer at the top of a clear golden body. Lacework at the upper part of the glass. Juicy malts to the nose. Malt-fruity taste, hints of grapefruits. Short ending. Light to medium bodied. OK (Greater Manchester, 22.01.2013).

From a 330ml bottle on 31/1/2013. Pours close to black with little head. Has a fabulously strong aroma of tiramisu, dripping with creamy coffee and chocolate. The tiramisu translates to the flavour, which is pleasant, but somehow doesn’t quite nail it. There’s lots of coffee and some chocolatey sweetness but it lacks a little on the roasty/bitter side of things. It’s a bit like a decent espresso that could be just a little bit stronger. Still, it’s interesting and the aroma is sublime.

Bottles from Sainsbury’s - on a special offer (80p), and now I see why! Coffee detectable in the aroma, but fainter than I might have expected, something metallic going on. Looks OK for the style. Tastes like coffee sweeties though, not beer. Palate manages to be both thin and sticky, aftertaste quite bad.

33cl bottle from HiperDino Express, Puerto De La Cruz. Pours golden with a white head. Malty and quite fruity aroma with hints of wood, whisky and honey. Sweet, but balanced. Nice and round malty flavour with well integrated alcohol. Nice beer! (2013-01-05)

Aroma - caramel malts, some sweet red berry fruits
Taste as aroma, fruity initially, dry, then collapses to a watery middle, thin, watery and dull
Palate - Very thin, no structure, cheap n watery. Finish watery and dry, very poor palate
Overall - Aroma was quite good, it was downhill all the way after that. Pish. Full bodied? Hmmmmmm

Bottle from Tesco. It pours light yellow with a medium white head. The nose is sweet pale malt, dough, straw and restrained citrus. The taste is dough, straw, pithy lemon, grapefruit, some bitterness and light spice with dry finish. Light-medium body and moderate carbonation. Easy drinking for sure, but fairly unexciting. They should have been more generous with the citra.....
