Bottle 12oz: Clear amber coloured brew with some hints of aramel, honey and raisins. Quite good North Carolinan version of an Munich Märzen.
Mmm, nice relaxing Saturday night after filling out tax stuff, putting a new tire, getting paint colors, watching LSU game, cutting the grass, moving the living room furniture, making the cats love me.... etc etc etc. Adultinf sucks.
Lovely. Sweet.

Notes from June 2009 Liter-sized growler shared on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Queens. Thanks for the sheets Paul. :P Spastically poured into my now famous Yard's mug. A deep dark brown cup of mud with a touch of coffee creamer head. Nose is of floral hops & melon-like fruit, with some sugar & milk chocolate as well. Building on the smell(though not in the same proportions), more citrus, golden raisins & bitter chocolate. Wood chips. Glazed & bready, with a minor annoyance of coffee. Plenty of pine on the finish. Grainy, slightly powdery feel. Iffy carbonation, but some heft to lean on. Such a mish-mash, I'm surprised that I enjoyed it so much. I really came in wanting to wail on it. :)

Notes from October 2009 I had this on tap not too long ago & didn't care for it. Hoppy browns are not my sort of thing. So I found this bottle in the back of the fridge with a BB notch still in range. With only a vague memory, I think I can go again. Chocolate toffee & orange rind fill the air around my pint glass. Tree sap, steeping grains, a bit of lactose, & some stiffening aerosol as I go in closer. Half inch of milky, tan head. Ruby brown body that carries just a small burden of haze. Taste is earthy & dirty. Charred toast, sharp cherry pits & half tart plum skins. Dusty malt. Moderate bark-like bitterness with an addition of coffee grounds. Lingering steel finish. Frothy, but the majority of the body was thin & coarse. I almost finished it.
Black pour. Thick foamy head. Dry roasted cocoa beans with coffee flavor. Nice Russian stout. Very charcoal and dark chocolate

Found in the “mixed-six cooler at Wegman’s. Don’t see much Duck-Rabbit in the Chicago area, it just comes around when people trade beers. And I don’t want to take a chance on losing it in my plane luggage, so we’ll be trying this fresh. (Best by Jan ‘23). Deep brown pour that still lets some light on through. Foamy brown head. Smell is mild brown malts without much alcohol to drive it to the nose. Wish I could say how it compares to a Bigfoot, but it’s been too long since I’ve had one. Yes, there’s distinct hoppy notes, with more hop expressions than just Amarillo could offer. Balances the roast malt to make it deceptively easy drinking. Starts to come across with some caramel on the tongue, but not overly sweet. Hop load becomes stronger the further down I go. Yet this is quite easy to drink and enjoy.

Bottled. Ambery brown colour, small white head. Aroma is toffee, some wooden, nectary and mild fruity tones. Flavour is mild toasted tones, some toffee, wood and mild bitterness. Very smooth and really nice balance.
