Pretty black. The aroma is milky, roasty, with a hint of molasses. Thick, rich brew. Molasses and stinging roast throughout, with an alcohol tickle down the throat. I’m not terribly enthusiastic about this one - it’s all stinging roast and doesn’t offer much nuance. The character isn’t as rounded with lush sugars as a typical DR brew.

Dark brown with a thin layer of cosmos-shaped head. Rich aroma - thick malts, accents of smoked plums, brown sugar and Turkish coffee, at time seeming a little bit burnt, at times coming through with very fresh malts. The body is thick, slightly oily. The main thing on the palate is Indonesian soy sauce - clean and well-structured, though. There isn’t a ton of nuance here - some sugar and the slightest bright apricot notes are about it. Finishes with a bit of roast.

Cherry and grass aroma. I detect a bit of yeast as well. Very clear brown pour with a medium yellow head. Taste is fairly strong with cherry and banana. Nothing much is left on the palate. Somewhat distinctive.

Aroma smells of more alcohol than is present., nothing else is distinguishable except maybe prunes. Deep dark ruby brown color with an extremely thick creamy tan head. Balanced chocolate malt and hop flavor. Unfortunately, it is dominated by the presence of alcohol. Coffee, raisin, and hop finish.. Unusually thin body for a stout. One of my lower rated stouts.

Aroma is pronounced candy with caramel. Color is cloudy brown with a medium golden head. Incredibly sweet, alcohol is evident. Very much like cough syrup, but with a thinner consistency. Weak and delayed but decent celery hop finish. Too sweet with nothing to balance it.

Aroma is chocolate, raisins, apple, and cinnamon. Black, with a thick, long lasting tan head. Alcohol is noticeable, but that could just be me. My last beer tasted very alcoholic too despite a relatively low ABV. Unusually thin bodied for a porter. Mainly apple core flavored. Perhaps some coffee notes, but that’s a bit of a stretch. Very subdued coffee and hop finish, woodier as it warms. Note: My ratings for the next few weeks are probably going to be out of whack since I have quit smoking.
