About
Metalman Brewing was born in 2011 when two beer enthusiasts decided they’d had enough of the outlandishly limited selection of beer available in Ireland, and decided to do something about it.

They started by contract brewing at a small brewery in Tipperary while building a brewery in Waterford city with a 6.5HL brewhouse. Draught Metalman started popping up in all sorts of places, and various brewery upgrades followed. At the end of 2014, they installed the first canning line at an Irish microbrewery, and cans of Metalman Pale Ale hit the shelves in January 2015. A brewhouse upgrade to 24HL followed later that year, as did various seasonal and limited edition releases.

Making beer is bloody hard work, but dammit it’s a lot of fun!

Draught Dense white head over faintly veiled orange beer. Fruity nose with citrus, but also strawberry, somewhat toasted malts. Bitter, bitter vegetables and kumquat. Medium bodied, well-carbonated. Despite the hops, quite clean flavourprofile. Quite good, better even seen its ABV.

Draught Good white head; hazy blond beer. Sulphur, hardboiled eggs, coriander, Thai herbs. Coriander (overdosed). Finish has lemontea, straw, and pale malts. Light body, wheatslickness. Not their best.

Draught Medium white head over hazy, orangey-golden beer. Sourish, yeasty, malts. Nice, malty-yeasty flavour, dry spices. Lively carbonation, medium bodied, yeastslickness. Nice Zwickel. If maybe not quite up to Franconian standards, it remains a nice drinking beer.

Can sample at a tasting at troubles’s place. Thanks Tom L. Dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of roast, chocolate, some smokiness. Sweetish flavor with roast, a bit of chocolate, some smokiness, and a bitterish finish with mild spicy chili. Medium-bodied.
