Description
When good friends Ray Ashworth and David Crease got tired of the same old beers, they were determined to change things up a level. With a passion for homebrewing and creating authentic flavours, they became part of a new-wave revolution, handcrafting their own beers in the 1960s.

In 1981 they founded their own brewery near Norwich and moved to a converted farm complex in the picturesque Broadland village of Woodbastwick in 1989

Cask at Archibald Simpsons. It pours clear deep brown with a thick, fluffy tan head. The aroma is muted, bitter - sweet, cacao nibs, coffee, malt loaf and some dried fruits. The taste is quite sour and puckering initially, dried fruits and berry, tangy raspberry, some acidity, earthy roast in the backdrop, tannin, rawness, cacao nibs and coffee beans with a kinda astringent finish. Light body and moderate, fluffy cask carbonation. Yeah, that's not what they were aiming for. Couldn't finish my third..... Bleuggghhhh.
