Description
The brewery can look back on a long tradition. It was first mentioned in 1762 as a communal brewery. Only in 1923 the brewery became private property of Sigmund Pirzer and Hans Jakob. At that time it was called Bräuhaus Nittenau. Since 1996 the brewery has been known as the Nittenau Josef Jakob brewery.
Since 2006 the Nittenauer beers are produced in the newly built brewery in the Wulkersdorferstraße in Nittenau. The new production facility with its modern technology creates an ideal space for creative brewing technology, in which old processes are reconsidered, optimized and implemented to improve the product.
Sustainability and environmentally friendly production methods are of paramount importance. The brewery favours short trade routes and convincing freshness according to the motto "From the region - for the region". 94% of the energy required is covered by an own photovoltaic system. This makes the Nittenau brewery one of the few solar beer breweries in Germany (with a seal of quality).

Bottle from pivnizub, diky! Golden with a tall white head. Full-bodied, good malty flavours with grainy hints, nice hoppy finish which is rather fragrant and aromatic.

Bottle picked up from Sulzberger Bierhaus Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm and consumed with the Ratebeer München Tasting group, Tuesday 31st January 2023. Pours black with a fast disappearing head, a few stray bubbles. Soft moutheel, chocolate, also it really tastes like a very good quality dark bitter chocolate. There is a little rum but however this is restrained, it's not overly rummy. This is very, very good, this has been done extremely well, like it. Got me super interested in visiting the brewery especially when I noted it's only an hour and 15mins away.

Bottle. Dark brown. Chocolate and fig. Soft, light, even fluffy. Creamy dark milk chocolate, but not as in milkshake - more as in laid back dark warm and round.

Bottle. Brown color with soapy tiny head. Aroma is chocolate, mild rum. Taste is the same, good barrel integration, not too overdone, nice balance. Silky mouthfeel, fine-bubbled carbonation. Good!

Bottle bought in a shop in Leipzig and drunk at home while taking a few days off drinking in the 3rd week of damp January. Medium brown, thin momentary head, nose of light roasted malt and quite some coffee. Decent malty sweetness hint but not much body behind it. A bit of caramel and wort but overall a decent acidity and mild (but flat tasting) hop bitterness to balance it. Overall quite excellent for an alkoholfrei! Proves that brewers should make more dark alkoholfrei beers instead of always trying the light, but very hard to nail, alk-removed variants.
