Description
The brewery can look back on a long tradition. It was first mentioned in 1762 as a communal brewery. Only in 1923 the brewery became private property of Sigmund Pirzer and Hans Jakob. At that time it was called Bräuhaus Nittenau. Since 1996 the brewery has been known as the Nittenau Josef Jakob brewery.

Since 2006 the Nittenauer beers are produced in the newly built brewery in the Wulkersdorferstraße in Nittenau. The new production facility with its modern technology creates an ideal space for creative brewing technology, in which old processes are reconsidered, optimized and implemented to improve the product.

Sustainability and environmentally friendly production methods are of paramount importance. The brewery favours short trade routes and convincing freshness according to the motto "From the region - for the region". 94% of the energy required is covered by an own photovoltaic system. This makes the Nittenau brewery one of the few solar beer breweries in Germany (with a seal of quality).

AROMA: medium-high orange zest aroma with slight coriander note. medium-low to low bready-sweet background. APPEARANCE: pale yellow color and translucent. large white head, creamy, with good retention. TASTE: medium orange zest flavor with low lemony coriander. slight herbaceous hop presence. medium background with a bready-sweet and worty character. medium-high bitterness with a dry and overly bitter finish. MOUTHFEEL: medium body with medium-high carbonation. OVERALL: a non alcoholic Wit with excessive bitterness maybe to counter the characteristic worty-sweet profile.

330 ml bottle. Muddled brown with a creamy head. Chocolate, malt, some citrus notes, caramel, raisins and dried fruits, toffee. Dry bitterness, malty sweetness. Full bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, dry bitter malty finish. Not that clean, quite rustic Zwickel.

Bottle (KCM Stenhaga, Vasa). Black colour with a mediumsized brown head. Aroma is shitloads of dark cold coffee, roasted tones and mild grains. Flavour is roasted malts, rye, some coffee and mild toasted tones. A bit like a coffee flavoured kotikalja.

Small, if persistent off-white head over foxy orange-golden, clear beer. Felt, musk, muscat grapes, caramel, cake bottom - sweet. Caramelly malts, with a bit burning MF, cactus juice/spirit, bit orangepeel. And worts! Very spritzy, even fizzy carbonation, if a bit sticky all the same. Medium bodied. Very beery flavour... but not very IPA-ish.

Diepgouden kleur, witte kraag. Hoppig, bloemig, hint van citrus, licht moutig, degelijk bitter. Vrij mild, lichte body, niet dun. Prima voor wat het is.
