Description
The brewery can look back on a long tradition. It was first mentioned in 1762 as a communal brewery. Only in 1923 the brewery became private property of Sigmund Pirzer and Hans Jakob. At that time it was called Bräuhaus Nittenau. Since 1996 the brewery has been known as the Nittenau Josef Jakob brewery.
Since 2006 the Nittenauer beers are produced in the newly built brewery in the Wulkersdorferstraße in Nittenau. The new production facility with its modern technology creates an ideal space for creative brewing technology, in which old processes are reconsidered, optimized and implemented to improve the product.
Sustainability and environmentally friendly production methods are of paramount importance. The brewery favours short trade routes and convincing freshness according to the motto "From the region - for the region". 94% of the energy required is covered by an own photovoltaic system. This makes the Nittenau brewery one of the few solar beer breweries in Germany (with a seal of quality).

0,33 l bottle from kappldav123. Thanks a lot! Murky pale golden in the glass, one finger white foamy head. Floral fruity hops on the nose with some caramell. Taste the same, fruity hopy, some malt and caramell, little bit dry hay in the background. Fresh floral hopy pale ale.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts mild, malty, light fruity hints of lemon. Modest dry. Light sweetish hints. Finish a bit metallically, still mild. Not bad.

Bottle, thanks joss! Fairly dark amber with a thick head. Aroma is toasty and a hit of melony hop. Very light body, a touch of bitterness and a dash of fruitiness. The toastiness comes out just a little. Funny example...lots of toastiness and very light body.

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, pale golden colour with a short frothy white rim. Present apple-fruity, mildly sour and tart aroma, also slightly ascorbic. Moderately sour and delicately sweet flavour, light bodied with a calm carbonation. Quite dry and mildly tart fruity taste of ripe apples; clean apple-fruity, moderately sour and tart finish. Okay. 13.XII.15

50cl bottle as Nittenauer Helles. Looks very simple. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Starts mild, malty, almost a bit washy. Light spicy notes. Finish still mild, well balanced. Quite drinkable. But nothing special. Okay.

Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Fine hoppy aroma. Starts intense hoppy-grasy. Fine fruity notes of lemon, light sourish. Finish less hoppy, some spicy-malty notes. Light moldy. Not bad!
