Description
In 1866, the Krieger family bought the then brewery estate in the town center of Riedenburg from the Beilngrieser brewery family Schattenhofer, founded in 1756. The current owner, Michael Krieger (4th generation) took over the management of the brewery in 1970. The external economic framework for small, medium-sized breweries changed rapidly in the 1980s with the advent of the brewing industry and the mono brands. Many small breweries gave up. The brewer recognized the signs of the times at an early stage and, together with his wife Martha, developed a company concept that safeguards the continued existence of the company. Today's ecological brewing philosophy, which is equally committed to sustainability and beer quality, is based on the only responsible combination of ecology and economy. The Krieger family developed the brazen principle that quality is the top priority into an eco-socially sustainable corporate philosophy.

From 1989, after a period of preparation, the conversion to today's organic farm began. The conversion of the entire company was successfully completed in 1994. The Bavarian brewer family Krieger is an example of ecological pioneering work in Germany. Since 1994, the brewery has been the first Bavarian brewery with a holistic ecological concept on the market.

Bottle. Clear amber with an ok white head. Aroma of caramel, malts and herbs. Taste of caramel, marzipan, malts and hints of lemons. Sweet. Low bitterness. Medium carbonation. Nope. It‘s missing the heartiness and spiciness I want from a Festbier.

It is a pleasant beer, perfect to begin a meal. The taste sounds more like a pils, bitter, malt, yellow and troubled body, good, 19.01.17, drinking it at Chavannes.

Cloudy dark amber with a fluffy head. Caramel, ripe banana, clove, hazelnuts and walnuts, some lemon zest and metal. Dry roasty bitterness, caramel sweetness. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, dry zesty roasty caramel bittersweet finish. Nice Bock, not as dark as I would have liked, quite similar to an Urweiße as well.

Bottle, 5.5%. Papery and malty aroma, slightly acidic. Cloudy dark amber colour. Unstable head. The flavour is nicely malty with a good caramel note and a spicy hop note. 537316
