473ml can. Pours a hazy copper-amber with yeast particles in suspension and a medium, foamy, long lasting, white head that leaves plenty of chunky lacing. Dank aroma of caramel malt, pineapple, mango, orange peel, pine needles and floral hops. Sweet fruity flavour of caramel malt, pineapple, mango, orange, tangerine, apricot and pine resin in a dry, mild bitter, spicy hop finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Nice, this was fresh and juicy.

473mL can, pours a hazy golden orange with a medium white head. Aroma brings out pithy stone fruits, earthy notes, and pine. Flavour is along the same lines, with earthy and citrus hops, and bready caramel. A bit flat, but it's pleasant.

Tasting at Jamie's, can, 4.9% ABV; this year's version is with pomegranate, cranberry, hibiscus, rosehip
Red colour. Flowery aroma, lean mouthfeel, mild acidity, with strong berry and hibiscus character.
The flavouring is very potent, and therefore this beer works very well.

A hazed dark amber pils with a thin off white head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with light grassy hops, light oxidation, light fruity esters, OK. In mouth, sweet caramel malt with light grassy hops, light oxidized characters, light mineral notes, old and tired. Bottle about 5 years old.

Yet another absurdly coloured beer from Halifax, not that I mind. This kettle sour pours pink-purple, clear with slightly pink, mostly white head. The taste isn't all that pungent, mild sour that leans toward the acidic, with a solid sweet chassis that dominates. Nothing earth shaking here. I feel I must be missing the true sours here in Nova Scotia, the non-kettles that sit in barrels to really stew and build complexity. Are there some? Well, times up anyway. It's back to Toronto for me tomorrow. There I know where to go to get my sour monkey off my back (Spadina Monkey that is.)

Says Hazy, but not really, almost filtered to the max - especially for a juicy East Coast style. The head is light beige with decent stay and good foamy lace. Loads of citrus in the nose with oranges, mangos and hints of pineapples. The mouthfeel is dry in the finish, but again, not to the max. Caramel malt base with the citrus zests. Even written Unfiltered, and after swirling the can heavily, not much haze. At least the rest is good.

650mL bottle, pours a hazy dark amber orange with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out lots of caramel malts, bready notes and subdued resinous hops. Flavour is very malty, with lots of caramel, bread, and subdued earthy resinous hops. Malty, earthy and somewhat stale. This isn't good at all.

Bottle - Caramel malt bomb. Clearish gold with a small white head. Bitter and sweet with a long caramel bitter finish. Tastes huge and likely the age has not done this beer any favours.
