From a 375ml can on 29/6/2022. Pours a slightly opaque deep golden with a smallish head. Holy Christ the nose is all crème brûlée - so much vanilla custard with perhaps a hint of the Earl Grey. Largely rinse and repeat taste wise - lashings of custard and caramelised sugar, and maybe a touch of cinnamon, though the tea is harder to find. Has a very creamy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. A quite singular and truly outstanding dessert beer.

A very smooth double IPA with some unique characteristics. Aromas of pine, grapefruit, overripe apricot, honey and biscuit. Similar tastes with a bit of alcohol, but it's pretty well hidden. Another ripper from Aether.

Can. Pale amber. A white head is soon a small island. Aroma of old lemon, good malt vinegar, vanilla/ oak. Tart with quite mellow malty notes that's presumably the barrels,. Dry, oaky and lemony towards the end. Interesting - the mellow flavours work well with the mild lacto sourness, but I did wish for a bit of Brett as well.

Can, labelled spiced rum porter. Deep brown with a small light tan head. Aroma of dark sugars, stewed fruit, vanilla. Light bodied, lowish carbonation. Drier than guessed with just a touch of roast and coffee but a decent lick of bitterness at the spicy end.

Can. Dark brown with a 2cm beige head. Floaty nectarine and vague citrus aroma with caramel, toast and just a hit of roast. Light bodied, slightly creamy. Moderately sweet with caramel and a surprising hint of smoke (OK, now I go back for another sniff it's not that surprising) before fruit and a little pine sharpen things towards the fairly bitter end. Good, a little bit of a different take - originality always worth something.

Another ripper from Aether. Aromas of pineapple, melon and passionfruit. There's a nice mix of grapefruit, pine and tropical fruits in the mouth nice body, very enjoyable. Can from Sense of Taste, Hamilton.

Full-flavoured, full-bodied Mexican lager. Aromas of corn chip, grapefruit and even a little salsa. A nice combo of sweet and dry. Could have become a little cloying, but avoided it. Can from Sense of Taste, Hamilton.

From a 375ml can on 5/12/2021. Pours a slightly cloudy deep golden/orange with a smallish head. Has a sweet, slightly dank fruity aroma. Tastes sweet with some stewed and ripe fruit notes, and not a typical juice bomb, with some caramel nutty malts presenting as well. Has a bitterness more typical of a WC DIPA than a hazy. Has a slick and silky mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Not at all typical for the style but still comes together very nicely.

Pours amber with a rapidly dissipating head.Nose shows white wine, soft oak, honey, funky, woody notes, lemon rind.Flavours include more white wine, caramel, butterscotch, cardboard, lemon, funk and a soft acidity.Body feels a bit watery.

From a 375ml can on 15/1/2021.Pours a super clear deep golden with a medium head. Not too much in the aroma - a little biscuit and the barest hint of fruit. The taste features some light biscuit malt and some quite sweet tropical fruit, countered by a firmish, sticky, resiny dry and somewhat warming bitterness. Still hides the 9.4% reasonably well. The mouthfeel is slick, the carbonation average. A fairly solid big DIPA, if not particularly memorable.
