From a 375ml can on 2/3/2023. Pours a slightly opaque reddy amber with very little head. Smells of stewed and dried with some slightly odd herbal notes. The flavours are quite bold
- stewed and dried fruit, some caramel malt, rye and nuts, with a slightly strange medicinal bitterness and a touch of booze. Syrupy mouthfeel with modest carbonation. A strange beer - by no means a disaster but ultimately doesn’t quite come together.

Can. Pale gold, a small island of white bubbles. 3- Aroma of mango, boot polish, old lemons. Only slightly tart but quite sweet with over-ripe fruit, citrus that's presumably yuzu rather than old lemon. No particular finish. Refreshing but lacks shape.

Kind of a weird IPA. Starts with some nice pine, mandarin and bread aromas, but in the mouth there's this thin strip of lemon and stone fruit that goes down the middle of the tongue and leaves the sides bare. Just a strange one to get a bead on.

Can. Not far off clear amber with an inch of white head that fades fairly fast. Aroma of pine, breadcrust, ripe mango. Sweet with tropical fruit quickly swept away by a piney but modestly bitter end. Pretty good but a bit pedestrian.

Can. Cloudy orange with a frothy cm of of white head. Aroma of passionfruit, Australian pineapple, under-ripe mango, crackers. The hint from the aroma that it was tropical but not sweet is right - it's dryish with quite punchy fruit - some rindy citrus too - before a moderate finish that's enough to make it brisk. Good quaffer.

Can. Started at 10C which was too cold. Somewhat murky brown with a beige cap. Aroma of spiced stewed fruit, strong bread, brandy, some citrus. A little more than medium bodied. Moderately sweet, a fair bit of overt alcohol. Less stewed fruit and more hop than suggested by the aroma with zesty and spicy notes as well as pretty firm bitterness. Not bad, but not a gun.

From a 500ml can on 16/10/2022. Pours a very deep brown with a medium tan head. Smells of stewed and dry fruit, Christmas cake, and some light spice. Tastes, variously of prunes, plums, sultanas, cinnamon and cloves. Finishes with a moderate tart bitterness and some booze. The mouthfeel is syrupy, the carbonation average. Definitely a sipper, with the 10% no real surprise. Not necessarily my type of impy, but definitely interesting, and worth a try if you like something a bit Christmas cakey and spicy.

10/10/2022. Can from Beer Cartel. Queensland rating #10. Pours clear very dark brown with a short lasting frothy beige head. Aroma is sweet peanut butter, peanut brittle, milk chocolate, caramel, light roasting. Taste is sweet, peanut butter cup, quite clammy and rather sickly. Moderate body, oily, average carbonation. Aroma hits the mark, but couldn’t drink it all.

375ml can from Copper & Oak. Gluten Free. Hazy yellow gold colour, bubbly white foam head that quickly dissipates away and aroma of ginger. Taste is sweet, ginger, grains, warming, spice, tangy. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, dry warm gingery finish. Quite drinkable.
