On tap at Begyle, pours jet black with a small brown head. Aroma brings out lots of hearty oats, plenty of wood, and a touch of vanilla beans. Flavour is ridiculously intense on the barrel, with a super shellacking of the tastebuds delivered by the fine bourbon barrels. There's a hearty oat character providing support, and the vanilla beans are mostly lost underneath the barrel. Wonderful stuff — not for the timid.

On tap at Begyle, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out vibrant tropical fruity hops, resinous hops, and sweet bready caramel malt. Flavour is nicely balanced and assertive, with big resinous hops, pine, and the perfect amount of residual sweetness to back. Excellent construction here.

On tap at Begyle, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma is dry and subtle, with soft grassy hops and maybe some straw. Flavour is dry and quite hoppy, with lots of grass, herbaceous and lightly spicy. Grassy, dry and bright. Very good.

On tap at Begyle, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out those weird Falconer's Flight hops, with a sort of herbal, minty character. Flavour is more of the same: herbal, minty, almost tart hop expression. The beer is well-constructed; I just don't like the hop expression.

On tap at Begyle, pours a somewhat hazy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out pithy stone fruits, some dank hops, and sweet resinous oils. Flavour is fairly dank, with sweet orange zest, pithy stone fruits and some dankness. A bit sweet to complement the bitterness. It's alright.

On tap at Begyle, pours a clear copper golden with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out earthy hops, a touch of pine, and soft bready malt. Flavour reveals a very nice, bright and harmonious blend of hop notes: lots of dankness, some pine, some citrus, and a bit of stone fruits. Bright, assertive and harmonious. Really nice IPA.

On tap at Begyle, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out bright tropical hops — classic Mosaic — with a crisp biscuity malt base. Flavour is crisp and moderately bitter, with a sort of washed out hop character and crisp biscuity malt. Very clean but the hops seem a bit muted. Pleasant.

Draught @ Beermiscuous, Chicago (6/10/23). Clear dark amber-red with a small foamy beige head, caramel malt aroma, low carbonation, bitter caramel taste with faint toffee and floral hops, thin body, and long bitter finish. Decent ESB.
