355ml can from Beer52 Chicago box. Pours black with moderate sized big bubbled tanned head Aroma is sweet, roast, big coffee note, chocolate Taste is roast, ash, chocolate, some coffee, quite bitter with a moderate sweetness which doesn't quite balance it. Body is light to medium so a touch light for a +5% stout. Average.

330ml can from Beer52 Chicago box. Pours a dark amber with small beige head, nice retention. Looks the part for the style Aroma is sweet, malty, metallic, raisins, nuts. OK. Taste is malts, caramel, coffee, nutty, crisp finish with a long modest bitterness. Very nice. Near medium bodied, easy drinking, fine carbonation. Very tasty.

On tap at Begyle, pours black with a small tan bead. Aroma has medium roasted malt, gentle hops, and a touch of earthiness. Flavour has a sort of coffee syrup character, with light roast, and some earthiness. Strange infusion of coffee it tastes like coffee syrup, with enough supporting malts, and not much hoppiness. This isnt point at all.

On tap at Begyle, pours a clear dark amber burgundy with a small beige head. Aroma has gentle cinnamon, a little nutmeg and toasted bready malt. Flavour is spicy upfront, with lots of cinnamon and a gentle floral character underneath. Theres not much else besides the cinnamon. Simple but pleasant.

On tap at Begyle, pours a clear pale amber with a small white head. Aroma has resinous hops, a touch of spruce, and biscuity malt. Flavour is Christmasy, with bitter piney hops, resins, plenty of spiciness, and a big dry bready malt base. Very old school but well-executed with lots of fermented out malts to support the bitter hops. Slightly vegeta/herbal in there on the finish hit forgivable. Very good.
