Description
Conceived as a ‘nomadic’ project, The Beak has spent several years creating unfiltered, seasonally-inspired beer with friends at some the greatest UK breweries, including North Brew Co, Partizan, Beavertown, Burning Sky and Northern Monk. We've now laid roots in our hometown of Lewes in East Sussex, where we've built a 15-BBL neighbourhood brewery and taproom with a mixed-fermentation project and weekend street food canteen. Please come and say hi!

My dest is the Lake District tomorrow. This Déšť is a mildly herbal-spiced continental style lager, making it quite an interesting brew, feeling a bit like subdued aniseed. Pale clear golden in colour and goes down the palate well enough.

440ml can from Left Field Beer, Solihull and consumed at home in Kuala Lumpur. Poured a murky golden orange colour with a big, lasting, frothy white head. The aroma is juicy tropical citrus, mango, orange. The flavour is moderate sweet and bitter, with a smooth, fresh, somewhat rich, juicy mango, nectarine, passionfruit, hints of pineapple, light mineral, super light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation. Lots of juicy fruits but rather light and nothing much in the finish.

750ml bottle from Benny’s Place, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy orange copper colour with lots of initial fizz that dissipated in seconds. The aroma is big raspberry. The flavour is moderate sour, very light sweet, with a fresh, crisp, juicy and tart raspberry, somewhat dry, oaky, light spicy yuzu palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation. I really enjoyed this, but would have preferred a little more sourness and spice. Didn’t gush!

Thin white head on a hazy dull golden coloured body.
Musty, cat piss & armpit aroma - Weird.
Medium bodied, soft, minimal carbonation & thinning out to a clean back.
Mango, nectarine, pithy & dank hop tastes with a long bitter finish.
Nice one.

440ml can. Pours black with a brown head that disappears instantly. Aroma of coffee, roast, dark chocolate, caramel, vanilla. Taste is very syrupy sweet, coffee (which seems slightly fruity), roast malts, chocolate, vanilla, caramel, bitterness from the roast malts and coffee doesn't do much about the cloying sweetness. Very thick full body.
A delicious stout but incredibly sweet.
