Description
RYGR Brygghus is a microbrewery in Kverneland Næringspark on Jæren. The brewery was established in 2017, and came on the market in 2018. RYGR is owned by the employees and Grans Brewery. The brewery is named after the Smokers, who were the first grain growers in southwestern Norway in the Viking Age. In 2020, RYGR has become one of the largest microbreweries in the country, after reaching a national agreement with REMA 1000 supermarkets. In addition, the products are distributed to Vinmonopolet and bars and restaurants.
The brewery has been a driving force for the use of local raw materials in production, and to a large extent uses malt from the same municipality from Jæren Korn & Malt and oatmeal from Stangeland Mølle. In 2020, other fermented raw material producers were also incorporated into production.
Beer in 50 cl cans are produced in Sandefjord by Grans bryggeri.

0,33 enkeltmannspakke, hjemme på bursdagen: nesten helt svart med fint skum som varer. Mmm, mørke chokolader, kakao, julekrydder inkl. kardemomme og muskat, samt et kaneldryss over en lekker maltkropp. Hipp hurra!

170ml draught at Ølhallen. Filmy layer, dotted spots on the glass, hazy golden body. Moderate aromas of peaches and a citric note. Mixed taste of apple skins and peaches. Mid-dry close with a fruity bite. Fair enough. (Tromsø, 13.01.2026).

On tap at the brewery. Fruity, berryish. Smooth and tasteful. A bit one dimensional perhaps, but sure fine. 747414 260109

Can, at the brewery. Light peat smoke, with roasted malts, coffee, spiced notes tending towards caugh syrup, in a good way. Brown sugar, leather hints and some tannins. Delicious indeed. I think though, I'd prefer these casks used on an imperial stout. 848417 260109

Can, at the brewery. Super smooth, warming, sweet, silky. Some tannin hints. Roasted malts, coffee, toffee hints, dark dried fruit, booze, leather notes and soy. Delicious indeed, even though it's border line imperial stout. 949517 260109

Can, at the brewery. Intense, but still kind of gentle. Smooth, warming. Sweet, with a finishing bitterness. Some tannins. Balanced, in a weird way. Roasted malts, booze, licorice, brown sugar, toffee hints. Some dark dried fruits and leather. Nice indeed. 848417 260109
