Description

Bottle @ ansjelaah. Hazy orange to amber colour with a medium, not-dense beige head. Smells malts, some hops, orangepeel, overripe fruits, sweet. Tastes bitter, slightly watery, malts, fruity.. They have better beers. Slightly overcarbonated, thin body.

Sample from bottle, generously shared by Bierkoning’s one and only Alice, huge thanks. Very dark color, but not quite black. Beige head (not much. Aroma’s: fruit (raspberry?), wet dog. Retronasal it’s much better: fruit, drop/licorice, roasted malts, malty sweet. Flavor is moderately sweet, roasted, medium bitter. Rather strong alcohol feel. Medium bodied. Finishes rather sweet, brown sugar. Interesting, but could be really good with some refinement.

Dark brown colour, off-white to beige head. Aroma of citrus, citra, caramel, malts, lots of pineapple. Bitter flavour, hops, roasted malts, pineapple, fruity. Quite dry. Fruity finish, caramel, pineapple, light roasted malts.
Nice. More like a caramel infused IPA, but I do like it!
(From 33cL bottle shared @ post-Rammstein tasting, Nijmegen. And thanks for the trade, Edo!)

Bottled. Cloudy brown color, huge brownish head. Bottles is no gusher, but is building up foam in the bottle. Aroma gives soft grassy hops on a roasty and chocolat malt base. Some yeast and spiciness as well, which reminds me of a certain brewery. Quite spicy bitterness. Finishes chocolate and loads of grassy and spicy bitterness. More malt based, but with a firm bitterness. Lacks good hop aroma, but it’s possible it’s an older bottle. Therefore it smells more like a stout. So, for a black IPA it lacks hop aroma, but for a stout it’s too hopbitter in taste. A bit unbalanced though.

From bierkoning’s box of Eastern Dutch goodies - thanks Edo! Pale golden color, hazy. White head with short retention. Aroma’s of grassy & earthy hops, some fruit, but retronasal it becomes different - sweet malts, sweet spices, some sour/sweet fruit. Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly fruity. Body is light, not too thin. Finishes with a faint bitterness. Very pleasant, but not a Pils, and hardly a Kölsch.
