Description

Bottle. It’s a semi-clear, dark copper colored beer topped by a small, dense, light beige head. The aroma has some sourness, with prunes, raisins, alcohol and caramel. The flavor has dried fruits, some notes of alcohol, a little caramel maltyness and some bitterness. Medium to full body, quite dry. Pleasant carbonation. Bitter finish with dried fruits. A decent dubbel, far from world class though. 120218

33cl bottle @ home, gift from brewers Jurgen and Geralda from brewery Berghoeve. Shared with Dutchdrebus. Almost pitch black color, decent sized brown head. Smell malts, lightly roasty, lightly spicy. Taste roasted malts, hints of chocolate and liquorice, only slightly spicy -which imo is a good thing- that gives the flavor a nice touch. Medium carbo and body. Very good for a beer of only 4%ABV.

Bottle shared with benzai. Nice black colour with a big brown coloured head. Smells not much.. Bit coffeeish and spicy. Tastes very roasty, chocolate, not that spicy, just a bit warm. Only 4% abv, but a very rich taste. Another great berghoeve brew!

Bottle, 8%. Dusty and papery aroma, slightly fruity. Almost black colour, seems clear, hint of red. The flavour is nicely creamy and dusty. Good roasted flavour, salty and sweet. Creamed coffee aftertaste. Flavourful, but well-balanced.

Bottle, 7%. Mildly roasted aroma, slightly sweet, perhaps with a little brown sugar and spices. Almost clear brown colour. Small tan head. The flavour starts off creamy, turns sweet and malty, good dusty note. A bit of alcohol in the finish, not needed in my opinion, but not bad either.
