Description
Breckenridge Brewery opened its doors in 1990 in the mountain town of Breckenridge, Colorado. It’s the third-oldest craft brewery in the state. In 1992, our second brewpub in downtown Denver opened. In the summer of 2015 a new production brewery was opened in Littleton. After 26 years, the focus is still on creating well-balanced, approachable, and interesting beers while also creating memorable visitor experiences. In 2016 Breckenridge Brewery became a unit of AB InBev.

Pour is a brown with a small white head. Aroma is caramel malts but nothing else really shows up. Flavor is total blandness. Wet paper bag lager is how i would describe it. Lack of all things beer like make this one to forget.

It is what they say it is. I don’t have to search for the vanilla and it is easily recognizable as a porter. The vanilla is in the aroma as well as the flavor, but there is light coffee and some bitter chocolate in there as well. Rather sweet for a porter, and more so with the vanilla. They are not subtle at Breckenridge; they say vanilla porter and that is exactly what this is.

Dark brown body, thin light tan head. Roasted malt aroma with strong vanillin. Strong artificial vanilla flavor which I liken to the creme filling in Cadbury eggs. I love Cadbury eggs, but I’m not exactly blown away by that flavor in a beer. Otherwise chocolatey. Still, a pretty good sipper.

Dark black color with a thin fully diminishing light brown head. Aroma of roasted and chocolate malts. Flavor of light chocolate malt.

Deep translucent wine-like red-brown, thin-medium creamy off-white head. Toasty, chocolatey aroma with grapeskin notes. Sweet body with chocolate and toast, brown sugar, and prickly alcohol. Red grapes add a fruity character. A surprisingly harsh brown ale; the flavors simply don’t meld well. I’m glad I’m not drinking the entire bomber.

Slowly receding white rim over clear orange-amber beer. Hops, typical C-h’s but all the same restrained, well balanced by biscuit-like malts. Very perfumed but in the best, discreet way. Bitterish taste, nowhere extreme, grapes, sweet and dried but just before the raisin stage. C-hops and their TASTE without excess metallic bitterness. Slick MF, slightly oily; medium to full bodied. Nice, better as expected for this brewery, pleasant surprise at the Essen 2006 International tasting.

Bottle. Aroma was alright. Appearance was midnight black, with dark tan head. Smokey and coffee flavor.

Pour is a dark brown with no head at all. I’m afraid this might have gone bad as there is no carbonation at all. Aroma is burnt malts. Flavor is again burnt malts with a touch of hops showing up in the end. Overall thin and watery.

Surely not a hefeweizen, but this is not a terrible beer. There is a light wheat taste, but that is overpowered by a strong and not unpleasant sour citrus flavor. They got the appearance right at least. I like sour beer and I am glad I at least tried this.

Draught at Breckenridge Brewery, Breckenridge, CO, October 2012, GABF week.Light brown. Citrus hops and light malt. Mild hop finish, but I did enjoy this more than I did when I tried it years ago. 12/12/2005. 5/4/6/2/12 OK aroma of herbal hops. It looks nice; dark gold and a decend sized white head. Aroma is of a light ipa. The hops need more intensity. What is there has light citrus and is fairly sour. Thin.
