Blond color, slightly hazy. Light aroma of vegetables. Dry mouthfeel, some hay and malt flavor, robust bitterness for the style, but without the overall elegance expected from a Kölsch, so the result is pretty boring.

On tap at Portland Craft, pours a deep dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma is super fruity, with lots of dark dried fruits and caramel. Flavour is similarly unusual, with notes of cocoa, dark fruits and light bready caramel. Very light palate, even less than most porters. Nicely balanced, but missing some oomph. Solid.

On tap at Portland Craft, pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out tart rhubarb notes, some citrus, moderate acidity, and lacto. Flavour is pretty faint on the fruit, with gentle red fruitiness, tart citrus, a little lacto and gentle acidity. Super restrained but clean and drinkable. Decent.

On tap at Portland Craft, pours a clear amber orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out a considerable punch of resinous hops, some wood, and biscuity malt - smells more like an IPA. Flavour follows accordingly, with lots of piney and resinous hops, followed by dry biscuity malt. Quite robust for a pale. Good stuff.

Can at JFK while waiting to depart. Pours rich orange-gold with a frothy, white head. The nose has lots of juicy, ripe citrus fruits, mango, melon, some gooey pine. Medium sweet flavour with a good, sturdy malt foundation, more gooey pine, mild earthy bitterness, ripe citrus, tropical fruits. Medium bodied with average carbonation, and rather smooth texture. Nicely resinous on the finish, with notes of lightly toasted malts, bread, melon, orange rind, mango. A good, sturdy all-around IPA. Solid work.

Draught at Darby’s Public House, Vancouver
Hazy light amber color with thin head. The aroma is fruity and estery. Lean but not weak nor too dry; nice malt presence, and nice hopping, a bit resiny and fruity. The final has some nutty and biscuity malt.
Clean, balanced, well made.
