0,33l bottle at home. BB 01. Feb 2016. almost black color, small coffee-colored head. nice coffee smell, some roast, earthy notes, some citric notes, grass & herbs, bitter chocolate, cacao powder, creamy. very nice smell. medium to full body, soft carbonation, slick almost creamy mouthfeel. tastes of coffee, earthy, light sour note, some bitter chocolate, grass, spices / light vegetables, light roast notes. finishes with nice roast notes a light bitterness and notes of coffee, light chocolate and some earthy notes. very nice beer, taste has a light astringency which could be either from the coffee or an issue of freshness. Distraction is very mild though, overall still a great beer.

Week van het Nederlandse Bier 2015. Dikke stroperige koffie met brandnetel bitter hopje aan het eind. Niet makkelijk, twee lekkere smaken die elkaar te lijf gaan en ontkrachten. Backlog from 2015/05/28.

Semi-opaque dark pour with a velvety tan-coloured head. Smells of coffee and roasted malts, and of piney hops. There’s a lot of coffee present in the taste, combined with a fresh hop bitterness (citrus and pine) and dark chocolate.

The beer is roasty smooth. Nice coffee and a smooth body. Not too smooth, but a bit rough. Intense roast, nice roasted coffee with hints of milk-chocolate. Roasty-bitter aftertaste, nice intense floral fresh. Easy to drink.

Bottle from The Bottle Shop Canterbury. It’s strong sweet some spicy rye. Some hop some strawberry jam. Some dryness. It’s rather good if very strong. Lovely strawberry jam with a spicy edge. Bizarre but proves Gadds are awesome.
