[On tap at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] A pale straw coloured pour with a dense white head and a lively body; grass aroma; sweet grassy taste; then an even sweeter finish. Not my thing at all.

Well it's back. I can't imagine there was a great clamor. But I will say this, it's the most attractive can design in years.

Nose: Very light grassy cereal. Barely there. Taste pale malts, light cereal, faint hops in the finish, and dry slightly metalic finish. There are much worse largers in British supermarkets than this.

Can, 0.5l. Clear copper pour, three finger creamy white head, long lasting, surprisingly good retention. Solid lacing on the glass. Generic macro lager nose, sweet, malty, grainy. Corn and some grassy notes.

Light body, medium carbonation, lively. Watery mouthfeel and texture, lightweight, fizzy. Easily drinkable. Mostly sweet taste, medium bitterness in the background. Usual generic aroma. Lager malt, grass, corn, grains. Some metallic notes but nothing really offensive. Short lasting finish, sweet, dry, mild rusty bitterness.

Generic macro lager. Just what the market flooded with generic macro lagers really needed I guess. Oh well. Drinkable?.Yes. Necessary? No. Excepcional? Hell no.

A draught pint at the airport hotel, LHR. Aroma: grassy. Appearance: very handsome clear copper with one finger of light tan cream, good head retention. Palate: light-bodied and slick, softish carbonation; the finish is pretty abrupt. Taste: lightly sweet, some biscuit, an agreeably nutty flavour. Passable, though ultimately a bit watery.

Deep dark brown, near black, with a frothy / creamy tan head and a creamy coffee aroma. Creamy up front, fast waters down, roasted malt, some chocolate and dry coffee bitterness.

Keg at Fretwells, Hull. Cola opaque brown. Thick creamy beige head. Aroma has malts and industrial sourness. Flavourwise it's got berry sourness over creamy malts. Light-medium bodied. Slick soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Easy drinking industrial Stout.

0.5l can from Konzum Vrbik, made at Apatinska pivara in Serbia. Bloody. Hell. The fakest of the fake macro brands has started worming its way outside of its English (not Spanish) homeland and into other MolsonCoors markets. Not really sure why they are pushing another useless run of the mill lager into the Croatian market - I'm guessing because someone ordered they had to - and partly maybe to steal some crumbs off of Estrella which semi-established itself... or maybe so English tourists getting wasted can drink something recognizable, that reminds them of home. I don't know. But here it is, and it's a tick, and I'll get on with it so that I can safely ignore it forever (unless maybe when it's free and I'm thirsty).

Beautiful crystal clear golden body, fairly big, thick white head, falling apart a bit unevenly. Dusty sweetish maltiness is dominant in the aroma with some vague hops in the taste, with mild green apple coming through later. Acetaldehyde marks the taste too, the green apple notes showing up in between sweet soft vaguely caramelly maltiness, edged by vague floral, herbal hoppiness, bit minerally and low, low yeasty touches. It's got the smoothness the least demanding beer drinkers might appreciate, but it's not clean and it's not good. Not seeing it make any kind of foothold here unless they invest an ungodly amount of money into pushing it everywhere, with questionable payoff.

On tap at Pivana Zagreb. Clear golden coloured, medium sized white head, malty and light grassy nose. Sweet malty, grassy, herbal, light bready and dry bitterish sweetish finish. Served size 0.4 liters...why???

Copper with a light tan head. A touch of sweet malt, dark sugars, biscuit. Medium, smooth body. It’s ok but also boring and sweet.
