Description
In August 1982, our late founder Tony Allen opened Oak Brewery on an industrial estate in Ellesmere Port. After much success, he moved nine years later to a location more central to his trading areas. Phoenix Brewery, Heywood!

Phoenix Brewery was registered in 1874, brewing directly from the Brewery tower and owning over 100 pubs in the local area. Phoenix’s history is still proudly displayed on our seven-story tower.

Building upon our strong foundations, we continue to brew Tony’s longstanding classic beers, whilst introducing innovative new brews. The team are looking forward to welcoming you to our Brewery site – soon to be open to the public for the first time in our history!

In 1996 it took the decision to trade as the name of the brewery Phoenix Brewery.

Cask, Ship and Mitre, Liverpool. Very dark brown colour. Fruity, chocolate malt, coffee aroma. Slipped down very smoothly. Fruit n’ nut chocolate flavour with more coffee and some nice grassy hop which balanced the malt very nicely. Tasty.

Hazy amber color. The aroma is sweet, malty, with caramel and fruity hops. Round mouthfeel, excellent caramel flavor, residual sugars that stick on the lips, vibrant hopping, lightly fruity. Balanced final. Wonderful.

Beautiful amber color. Very nice hoppy aroma, with some apples too. It has a wonderful caramel flavor, with toffee, and a very good hopping, fruity and a bit resiny; light residual sweetness. Very long and powerful final. A hop brew. Beautiful.

Hazy deep blond color. Original aroma, mild, with a mix of cookies, lemon, malt; delicate but very interesting. Light malt flavor, a bit flowery, with a delicate but nice citrusy hopping. Very pleasant.
