Bottle thanks to Ashton McCobb. Pours just-clear golden with a thin white head. Aromas of dried herbs and caramel. Taste is watery malt and bread. Thin finish. Not on style.

Bottle from the Black Toad. Appearance - hazy golden orange. Thin white head. Nose - orange zest and soapy hops. Taste - much like the nose. Palate - light bodied and bitter. Overall - wouldn't get another.

Bottle at ash's. Pours deep ruby brown, nose is chocolate, nutty, roasted, taste is chocolate, blackberry jam, sweet, liquorice.

Bottle from the Black Toad. Appearance - mat black and solid, thin beige head. Nose - light prunes and dark chocolate. Taste - dark, sweet chocolate, prunes and light roast. Palate - medium to full bodied, creamy, sweet and then roasty finish. Overall - lovely beer.

Bottle from the Black Toad. Appearance - mat black with a thin tan head. Nose - brown bread with an edge of toffee. Taste - a wee bit of molasses, then burnt wood and roast. Palate - medium bodied, roasty and smoky finish. Overall - it's ok. Decent example of the style.
