Notater fra en særdeles hyggelig Mi2 Cardinal mai-22. Etter en solid rekke fatøl er vi nå kommet til kveldens eneste sider, og våre tanker går til alle de som ikke vet sin besøkelsestid. Fra flaske: lett uklar blekgul (nesten off-white) med fint skum. Superfrisk, spennende og spenstig aroma og smak. De har lyktes svært godt med sin dristige kombinasjon av to gode eplesorter, lokale hageepler fra Sørlandet, Vossakveik og honning. Hint av krydder (kanel?) i smaken får tankene til å gå i retning av min hjemmelagede eplemos. At den også er lett musserende bidrar til friskheten, og panelets dom er et unisont kjempegod!!.

330 ml bottle, lot #249, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 6.5%. Cloudy "ancient pink" to dirty red colour, moderate to small off-white head. Aroma of lactic acid, lingonberries and a hint of sea water. Sour flavour, lots of lactic acid and lingonberries, only a hint of salt. Low bitterness.

On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours hazy amber with off-white head. Aroma of caramel, citrus, pine needles. Tastes slightly sweet with balancing bitterness. Medium bodied, bitter finish.

330 ml bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 6.5%. Extremely pale straw colour, pours sparkling with a moderate to small white head. Aroma of "nedfallsepler", apple cores, vossakveik and honey. The flavour has a considerable fruity acidity from Norwegian orchard apples, hints of honey. Unusual but interesting and drinkable.

8-3-8-4-16 Bottle. Pours hazy dark golden, with a small airy head. Aroma is tart fruity notes of apples, apricots and stone fruits, as well as bretty notes of wine grapes and fizzy wine gums, honey and oaken notes. Full body, with average carbonation. Flavour is tart fruity notes of apples and bretty notes of grapes and wine gum, as well as hay, heather, tannins and oaken barrels.

Bottle. A clear looking chestnut colored beer with a nice-looking dark beige head. The aroma has a bit too much yeastyness, with some dark bread dough, a good dash of dark chocolate and nuts, roasted malts and a touch of coffee. Some earthy and very lightly orangey flavors too. It's full-bodied and very lightly warming, nicely carbonated and semi-dry, with a mostly malty flavor. Bread, nuts, dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malts and a touch of earthyness and pan roasted champignon. Medium length finish. Not sure if this was a good way to use kveik, it makes it feel too yeasty and homebrewish. 220516
