Bomber from Belmont. Pours a pitch black color with a small beige head. A big sweet roast nose. Cocoa, lactose, licorice, dry heavy roast is dominant. Dark fruit and some ash. Very big, very good. Reminds me a bit of a Scandinavian stout, more on the drier side compared to many impys. Nice.

12oz bottle picked up while in Albuquerque. Pours out a golden topped with a nice head. Nose is citrus hops bread malts and a nice tropical fruit twist aswell. Taste is as the nose with some pretty dank hops nice and solid hop profile with a strong malt bill.

2013 vintage 22oz bomber from Elise. Aged the better part of a year. Wow. This is pretty phenomenal. Ruby amber-brown body, unfiltered. Foamy glass lacing beige head. Bourbon-vanilla aroma. Quite reminiscent of the Bourbon Barrel Barleywine from Goose Island in some respects. Has enough Barleywine characteristics that I’d be happy to categorize it as that. Chewy caramel woody bourbon candy tones. Solid.

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a ruddy brown color with a one finger white to off white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving a light foamy trickling lacing.
The smell had a deep caramel maltiness combining with a decent boozy vanilla and offering a delicate chocolate and coffee.
The taste had a deep sweet boozy hotness allowing the chocolate, coffee and vanilla to combine and intermingle with the booze.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fair sessionable aspect about it. The carbonation was good for the style as it was fairly harsh but not too much. Light boozy vanilla rolls over my tongue to the finish.
Overall, wow, what a really nice offering from a Brewer I don’t know much about just yet. I definitely would have this again.
