I had a good moment with this session IPA, aromatic, hoppy and not strong in alcool, so if you drive, it is a good option, 02.07.18, at Prélaz , Lausanne.

Small, if persistent just off-white head, dense, over finely carbonated veiled copper-amber beer. Stroopwafels with kaneel, sorry, cinnamon. Vanilla. This smells as it is named. Though the taste is less outspoken, still quite a lot of cinnamon retronasal. A bit of oxydized metal, in an acceptable way. And of course, stroopwafels (*). Quite well-bodied, very slick to oily, viscous. Bit of alcoholwarmth; chewy. For such a sweet uppercut, quite palatable, I must say. (*) Our northern neighbours are so proud of their stroopwafels. If you really want to know what that can be, try lackmans in Belgium... Txs to Stef!

0.33 l bottle from 'Mr. Hop', best before February 2029. Black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, quite roasty, gently smoky-medicinal and a little fruity aroma of dark chocolate, licorice, coffee, peat, seaweed and some dark fruits. Quite sweet, malty, gently roasty-bitter, quite smoky-medicinal and slightly fruity taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, whisky, peat, seaweed and some dark fruits, followed by a long, gently roasty-bitter, slightly boozy and a little woody finish. Medium to full body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Lovely brew, fairly complex, quite outspoken. Will miss this brewery, even if it's already not the same as it once was.

Not bad at all, the note of alcool is not so well hiden, a bit unpleasant at the palate, malty, fruity, decenty hoppy, aromatic, 23.01.20, at Epalinges

16th August 2025
Murky looking brown beer, small and short lived tan head. Smooth and mildly dry palate, mildly dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Light but reasonably tasty malts, abundant caramel and cream, a little toffee. A bit of a contradictory thing going on, rich ripe fruits but, also quite vibrant. Smooth bourbon, as in, very smooth, a little oak induced vanilla. Rather good then. Sad that De Molen is no more but optimistic that Menno will take up the mantle again in Spain, but hopefully without the stress. Go Menno!
