Small off-white head over hazy light-copper beer with a pink haze. Cheesecake a mile out indeed, with an artifical fruitaroma, probably meant to represent raspberry. More of the same in the taste, artificial raspberry and an industrial soft cheese flavour. Sour? Only on the lips, but masked in the mouth. Utterly slick, not very carbonated. Arguably one of the most botched beers from De Molen. Menno where... oh yes, Suria. Lucky Catalans.

Good punchy stuff. Gooey ripe citrus, marmalade, vanilla. Pale wood. Nicely rounded. Fairly soft on the palate. Some honeysuckle. Melon. Fun.

Bottle from Ken at CBJ Tasting. Opaque amber. No head. Aroma is boozy with sourness over underlying sweetness. Flavourwise it's sour with more sourness and booze. Some underlying chew. Medium bodied. Oily. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. OK.

Bottleshare at CBJ. Thanks to me for the bottle. A very light haze on this amber beer, small and very short lived pale cream colour head. Light palate, semi dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Light bodied malts, a light sweetness. Big old Calvados. Bright but ripe ciderish apple with nice brandy depth and caramel. Alcohol spicy finish. Very Calvados

Donkerbruin tot zwart bier met schuim. Smaak is zoals de naam zegt bitterzoet en kruidig met iets van kaneel, donkere chocolade en wat kersen. Helaas vind ik de algehele smaak combinatie wat tegen vallen.

Bottle from Hopduvel.
A: hazy dark brown, small, tan head.
A: melting milk chocolate, candied fig, toffee, old nougat, whisky.
T: very sweet red apple, fig, milk chocolate, caramel.
F: herbal hops, some bitter toast, chocolate & warming whisky alcohol.
P: medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation.
Tasty, but the barrel doesn't really elevate the base beer.
