Cask, pint at Queen Vic Aberdeen. It pours clear golden - amber with a thick, fairly dense white head. The aroma is fragrant, quite floral, toasty grain, cereal, touch of nuttiness, biscuit and zingy citrus vibes. The taste is crisp, dry, snap of bitterness, pithy, zesty, waxy citrus peel, lemon, grapefruit, touch of orchard fruits, fragrant, floral, pot pourri, peppery spice, biscuity malt base, cereal and some lightly toasted grain with a drying, finish. Average body (actually I expected a toucher lighter as this is a summer ale...) and well appointed fluffy carbonation. Nice condition. Probably wanted the malt base to be a touch cleaner, but it's nice nonetheless.

Cask at Ryrie's. Pours clear golden with a thin white head. Aromas of orange and opal fruits. Taste is bitter orange and light pine. Bitter finish. Not in keeping with the stated style and all the better for it!

Cask at the Lincoln beer festival 2023. Clear golden colour with a white head. Aroma and taste are citrus sweet fruity. Creamy body.

Cask at Orkney Brewery. It pours clear yellow - gold with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is soft bready malt, fresh, vibrant, zingy, tangy citrus, lemonade, grapefruit, pomelo, tangerine, sherbet and candy. The taste is crisp, firmly dry, pleasing and lingering bitterness, clean, pithy, zesty, floral accents, plenty of citrus fruits, lemony, grapefruit, pomelo, waxy tangerine rind, touch of bread and cereal in the malt base with a dry, zesty finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. A different beast on cask, so vibrant. Great stuff.

500ml bottle from the Offie, Leicester. Drunk at home. It pours a wonderful rich dark brown with a creamy khaki head. Light roast malt on the nose, fairly chocolatey, maybe touches of caramel. Taste has a lovely balance to it, never overly sweet but carrying an earthy hoppy bitterness mid-sip to the finish. Gentle notes of coffee on the aftertaste. Soft to medium carbonation on the oily body. A delicious stout, especially for the fairly low ABV.

Cask at The Globe Inn, Aberdeen. It pours clear golden - yellow with a handsome fluffy white head. The aroma is fresh and sappy, bready malt, biscuit, peach, mango and a touch of tinned fruit cocktail. The taste is firm dryness, pleasing bitterness which lingers throughout, some tropical fruit vibes, peach, mango and the like, pithy, zesty, bitter grapefruit rind and some peppery spice with a lingering bitter finish. Average body and moderate, well appointed cask carbonation. Feels super fresh. Surprising kick of bitterness which is just what I wanted. Not hazy IPA by any stretch of the imagination, but a pleasing hoppy cask number nonetheless.
