About
Sofia Electric Brewing was started as an idea behind a terminal in 2018 by Simeon Parvanov. After long and somewhat painful process the brewery finally started fermenting beers in the heart of Sofia in June 2020.

Joined by head brewer Remy Chaloner, the team tries to create beers that bring satisfaction and create opportunities for our community.

Single Barrel Series: Rum And Caramel from Sofia Electric Brewing

Now this is more like it. Stout, rum, caramel, but not Kees. Smooth body, some boozyness but easy enough. Pretty sweet, but that's what was promised and it fits the beer. Plenty of caramel, nice amount of tobaccoy rum. Quite nice.

Woohoo, cow liquids! BBQ drippings? No, a BA imperial stout. OK.. buffalo? No, Bulgarian oak. Ah well, still nice. Decent body, could be thicker but not terrible. Relatively sweet. There's a bit of weirdness present, tart fruit, starting infection?

(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 30 June 2022) Hazy yellow colour with rocky, white head. Fruity nose with lemon, orange, pineapple and white bread. Fruity, malty taste with notes of lemon peel, pineapple, biscuits, hay, herbs, a touch of coriander and a mild citric/herbal bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Fresh and summery. Very nice.

Can sample at a tasting at Odi's place. Thanks troubles. Cloudy orange. Fruits, milk, cheesecake, orange, sweet and sourish, spicy hint.

Can thanks to Marcel. Appearance - dark brown to black. Thin beige head. Nose - coffee and dark chocolate. Taste - dark chocolate, and coffee, light roast and liquorice edge. Palate - medium to full bodied, creamy middle and dry, roasty finish. Overall - very nice.

Can at ash's. Pours black, nose is chocolate, raisin, plum, roasted, marshmallow, taste is similar, bitter finish.

Can picked up in Lambiczoon, Milan, consumed at home, 6th November 22. The beer pours a fairly clear golden, aroma is resinous, some pine and citrus pith, taste is pine and resin, caramelised orange. Pretty good stuff from Sofia. 2nd Bulgarian I’ve had this week, but the first one was sweeter.

[ As Sofia Electric / Mikkeller Beer Geek Balkan Breakfast ].
ABV: 10.0%. Cloudy dark black brown colour with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocoalte, cocoa, plum, vanilla, light smoke. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, chocolate, vanilla, plum, sweet chocolate, dark malt, nutty mouth feel. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming. [20221103]
