Description
It started as a hobby. In 2012, four brewery friends decided to join their tasty tripel in the Brouwland Beer Competition. From a selection of more than 90 beers, our Bryggja was voted the best hobby beer in Belgium by a professional jury. The start of a great adventure! We took this opportunity with both hands and chose a name, bottle, a suitable design for our label ... With the Bruges Beer Festival 2013, our beer was launched. We brewed externally and the sales went beyond all expectations. The following year our 2nd beer "Amuse" came on the market. A spicy beer that is very suitable as an aperitif beer. At the end of 2014, the decision was made to fully go ahead and start our own brewery. We found a building in Moerkerke and in the spring of 2015 the brewing installation was installed. We only work with Belgian hops and can therefore also use the official logo. Our beer is a traditional product, with us no extracts, no flavor or foam enhancers. We like to keep it pure nature.

Trübes dunkelgoldenes Bier mit ordentlicher Schaumkrone. Geruch nach Gewürzen, Koriander, hefig, fruchtig. Geschmack sehr malzig, Gewürze, leicht scharf würzig.

Clear/pale blond body. White creamy head. Rather unpronounced aroma. Unbalanced, moderately bitter flavour. Rather dislike it.

Light, hazy blond with lasting tight head. Spicy aroma with some clove. Flavour is yeasty and also has a bit of a soapy edge like lemongrass.

Poured from a bottle at the 2014 Brugge Beer Festival, the brewer shared a stall with Rudy of Bierboom fame, they are mates. Anyway he gave me a good measure for my token: hazy golden body with a good fluffy white crown on top. Floral, fruity nose with a citrus bent, some yeastiness and malts too. The taste was also leaning towards citrus flavours with some spicy notes to calm it down, again floral touches within the brew. Decent and pleased I had a glass: looking forward to the Triple I’ve had in my stash for a while even more now I’ve tried the brewers new beer.

Brewed at De Graal. Cloudy orange golden colour, good frothy white head, dissipates rather quickly, thin layer of foam remains. Sweetsour nose, bread, yeast, dough, bit caramel, citrus, herbs, apricot, some ginger. Medium sweet, slightly bitter taste, apricot, orange. Full body, oily to creamy texture, nice bitterness in the finish, also a bit sour and some herbal accents.

Draft @ BAB’14.

2/II/14 - bottle or tap? @ Brugs Bierfestival - BB: n/a (2014-166) Thanks to Erwin, PriorL and Mathieu87 for sharing today's beers!

Little cloudy yellow to orange beer, aery fizzy white head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, peaches, sweet, somewhat malty. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: fruity start, some citrus, grassy, bitter hops, pretty dry. Aftertaste: very fruity, grapefruit, bit sour, lemony, hops, floral touch in the end. Not bad, not bad at all!

Draught Small white head over unclear yellow beer. Very spicy, even a bit artificial - as a wee room deodorant... let’s call it perfumed. Perfumed, citrussy, going over in a very bitter flavour, like dry citrus peel left too long oxydizing. Medium bodied, well-carbonated. Certainly not to my amusement. was: 6/4/4/3/10 retried Good white head over clear golden beer. Very powerful herbal nose, spicy, lavender, eucalyptus. Herbal/spicy again, very bitter/astringent/dry flavour, as wormwood. Feels spritzy, doesn’t look it. Medium bodied, bone-dry finish. Not everybody’s choice, not for the fainthearted. Still, liked it better than the first time around.

Sampled draft @ Brugs Bier Festival 2014. Hazy orange, small white head. Smells like cleaning agents, artificial mint, air refresher, pine car freshener. Tastes like cleaning agents, air refreshers, fake mint, fake herbs, car fresheners, chemicals. Fizzy body. This is like drinking an air refresher, terrible. What is in this thing? Who is amusing themselves here, the brewer?
