About
Paljas is ontstaan door een uit de hand gelopen hobby van Mathias Van den Poel. Na twee jaar experimenteren met verschillende hopsoorten zag de Paljas Blond in 2013 het levenslicht. Later volgden dan de Paljas Bruin, Paljas IPA, Paljas Rosé en Paljas Saison. De bieren van Paljas zijn ondertussen in twintig landen te verkrijgen.

*** As of 2021, the brewery 'Henricus' seized to exist as a seperate brewery- it was bought by Brewery De Leite, and the Paljas beers are now brewed under their care. ***

Super dry beer. Medium farmhouse funk, aroma is nicely balanced. Bitterness is not too harsh, belgian yeast bubblegum comes through just enough. I think this beer is perfect to style, if I liked the style more it would be perfect overall. online belgian beer factory bottle

Bière 75 cl trouvée chez Market Boissons à Wattignies. Robe brune foncée, nuances orangées, limpide, grosse mousse brune crémeuse. Nez malté. En bouche, bière équilibrée, corps malté et fortement caramélisé, pain grillé, café, amertume houblonnée. Belle longueur en bouche. Pas désagréable mais manque quand même de corps et le caramel manque de subtilité.

Huge thanks to JefVerstraete for that one! Bottle looks very simple. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Dry malty aroma. Starts malty, dry, a bit metallical, some sourish hints. Light fruity background with notes of apricot. Finish could be more balanced. Okay.

Bière 33 cl trouvée à Market boissons à Wattignies. Couleur dorée pale, un peu brumeuse, mousse abondante et moyennement durable. Arômes fruités et fleuris, notes de levure, céréales, citron, on retrouve des notes typiques des bières belges. Bouche légèrement houblonnée, notes d'agrumes et de citron. Amertume modérée. Pour avoir testé la Paljas blonde et pour ne pas être fan de saison en général, je m'attendais à ne pas l'apprécier... Mais finalement c'est plutôt une bonne surprise dans son registre, rafraîchissante et désaltérante.

330ml bottle. Hazy, yellow-ish golden colour with average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, white head. Spicy yeasty and citrusy fruity, hoppy aroma, notes of lemon, lemon zest, a touch of lime, notes of fresh hay, hints of mustard seed, some green apple, wheaty undertones. Taste is dry, citrusy hoppy and minimally spicy yeasty, hints of fresh hay and white pepper, lemon, lime peel. Very refreshing - very nice.
