Description
Lineman was setup in 2019 and we produced our first beer in August of that year. That beer was First Light, a grisette which we sold on draught and bottle. At the same time we also produced a mixed fermentation beer, using a homebrew house kveik culture, called SAGA. So just the two unusual styles to begin with then.
Lineman had been a long-planned project of founder/owner/brewer Mark Lucey. Having been obsessed with beer and heavily involved in homebrewing for all his adult life, it was always an ambition to open a brewery or have a commercial brewing project that would allow him to produce a diverse range of beer. Stouts, Belgians styles, IPAs and Mixed Fermentations.

Panda thanks to Cloin. Near clear dark brown - amber brew, good bubbly pale tan head. Light palate, semi dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Airy malts, a light creamy sweetness, nice light touch of chocolate and a trace of treacle. Crisp cooling pine. Hop spice ramps up early and never lets go whilst staying the right side of hop burn. Crisp cooling pine. Good plummy fruits, even a suggestion of cinnamon. A very well done CDA and supremely drinkable for the double CDA style.

20 June 2025. “Iets voor den Erwin” @ Dracuna. Cheers to the whole GBV crew!
Roasted malt, cold coffee, old fondant. Restrainedly sweetish blackberry, coffee, roasted malt. Earthy hops, coffee, toast. Average to fizzy carbonation. Restrained, the ABV suggested a bit more flavour though.

Black with a beige head. Roasted malts, sweet molasses, cocoa, and a very strong floral/perfume/soapy note that overrides. Full bodied. Difficult to drink.
