Hazy, copper colored saison - initially moderately spicy and and herbal, with touches of peppery and a bit of clove and anise - they added smoked malt to this, which not only adds moderate smoke, but also adds a malt richness not typically associated with this style - this makes things interesting, but not in a completely good way - quite a bit of residual sweetness as well - interesting, but would not revisit.

Hazy gold pour - a nicely dry and tangy, almost weizen-ish saison - lots of dry spiciness, sage, lavender - moderately peppery phenols compliment the spiciness - intense but refreshing lemon and lime citrus character - lemony tanginess and a lightly funky, flinty finish - peppers add spice on the end, but no vegetal character, which is nice - very tasty.

Growler thanks to womencantsail. Pours with a small white head with a clear golden-orange body. Aromas of orange, floral, citrus, and some caramel. Flavors of tea, citrus, floral, bitter, malty, and some wheat. A bit astringent in the finish. Lively bubbles, dry mouthfeel.

Sample from a bottle from an unknown source at One Funky Afternoon at Jackie O’s on 04/02/2011: The beer is a hazy yellow color with a medium eggshell white head that diminishes steadily. Thin rings of lacing. Aroma of citrus, brett and sweet malt. Medium body with a moderately sour brett character and notes of citrus, malt and grass. The finish is mildly sour with a tart fruit aftertaste. Above average overall.

75 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is wineous and acidic. Fruity, winous and acidic to acetone. Wineous and lingering fruity. Acetic and dry, lingering fruity into the far finish.

Brown color. Very rich and powerful aromas, complex as well. Cherry pie filling and vinegar. Flavor is sour, with more cherry and balsamic vinegar. Just a little sugar. The cherry and balsamic work very well together. This is an excellent sour. Where the Wild Beers Are, 2010.

750 ml bottle from Doodler. Nose of yeast, a hint of funky horseblanket, light cloves, and lightly caramelized sugar. Murky lemon yellow with a medium pale yellow head. Flavor is lightly spicy cloves and corriander, light sweetness, a hint of white peppery tartness, and yeasty funkiness. Finish is slightly sweet.

750ml bottle pours a hazy, yellow gold with a thin, bright white head. Nice nose, bright citrus, horsey but not oppressive, floral, herbal. Flavor is sweet, hay, grass, yeast, lemon lime soda, a little farmyard. Medium bodied, bright, refreshing finish.
