Description
Mission Brewery was originally established in 1913, but like most breweries of the time, it went out of business during the first year of Prohibition. In 2007, Dan Selis, an avid homebrewer, re-established the brand and has built it into one of the top craft breweries in San Diego County.

On tap: 10oz pour at the Stadium Brewery brewpub in California on 18th May 2015. Black body, tanned topping. Malts all the way here, slightly over carbonated for me but I thought it was a Porter anyway! No one else has mentioned liquorice in their tasting notes, so I will: it tasted of liquorice from start to finish with a few fruity traces around the base liquorice flavour. No Belgian influence for me, but a decent enough brew all the same.

Pretty well balanced- moderate high sweetness and bitterness. Lots of chocolate and dark fruit. The booze isn’t too much. A little bit of pine. Pretty good.
