Description
Mission Brewery was originally established in 1913, but like most breweries of the time, it went out of business during the first year of Prohibition. In 2007, Dan Selis, an avid homebrewer, re-established the brand and has built it into one of the top craft breweries in San Diego County.

Thanx Cody.
This was poured into a pint glass and a stange.
The appearance had a glossy amber color with a one finger white foamy head in the pint glass and a two and a half finger white foamy head in the stange. Both had the same foamy stringy lacing after the head died.
The aroma smelled the same in both glasses: light cooked fruity slightly caramel breadiness over top of a herbal grassiness.
The taste followed the aroma, it was pretty much the same.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was okay for the style and for me. Thereβs a light toasty edge rolling over my mouth.
Overall, decent altbier I think I could do again, its nothing special, but nothing bad.

Large sized sample poured by the breweries Southern California Market Manager Jenny Ramos during a Beer and Indian food evening in The Clay Oven, irvine, Orange County on 14th July 2014. Mini-haze to my glass, the bottle already being half empty by the time I got to the Mission area. No head to speak of. Expected a bigger hop profile to be honest. There were plenty around and mostly giving the brew a citrus more than a bitter taste and feel. I thought it easy to drink but lacking in interest compared to many of the other beers that were on offer during a lovely evening of good food and great beers.

Decent sized sample poured by the breweries Southern California Market Manager Jenny Ramos during a Beer and Indian food evening in The Clay Oven, irvine, Orange County on 14th July 2014. Red hue to this brew, the head off-white and clingy. Malty front in both the nose and taste, the hops are there as well though and come through loud and clear with a mild citrus feel to their flavouring. No expert on this style/type of beer but I liked this one.
