Description
Somewhere out in Colorado, in the year nineteen hundred and ninety-five, two guys named Dave and Bill learned that while they loved gulping down good beer, they weren’t yet old enough to buy it. They figured an answer to their quandary would appear if they drank enough and listened to enough thinking music, also known as Ska. On the second Skaturday of Skatember it hit them. If they brewed their own beer they’d have all the beer they could ever want. And while they were at it, why not brew the most magnificent suds ever quaffed in their neck of the woods…or any other neck for that matter.

Pour is a tea colored brown with a small tan head. Aroma is a nice with a mix of caramel malts and brown sugar. Flavor is a big let down almost to the point of being nothing. Some malts do show up after the swallow but this is really thin. Your could prob shotgun this right out of the can no problem.

Bottle from Liquor Max in Loveland, CO. Reddish copper color with a decent beige head. Mixed floral and resin aromas over roasted caramel. Medium body with mild carbonation. The flavor is really fruity, and lushly hoppy, rather than bitter. The flavor is exceptional. There is no hop burn. It borders upon astringency. There’s always a little sweet, but it’s really nicely balanced. Absolutely no heat. A really good beer, but perhaps not for the hopheads who wants their tastebuds burned out. Again, it’s not harsh bitter, but it’s easy to believe it’s 95 IBU.

12 oz. can and likin’ that! Nice light malt beer smell that nonetheless I can easily detect when opened. Pours golden and slightly hazy. In my small tumbler it kicks up a big spongy head. Malt with some sweetness and a slightly metallic hop signature. Somehow reminds me of regular beer back when Dad drank it. Wayyy too fizzy, in fact, bubbles bring in some harsh malt liquor type flavors. And way too fizzy for any style with English beer roots.

Bottle: Pours a deep, rich brown that is near black. Tiny thin head. Smells rich with roasty malt and light chocolate tones. Tastes roasty and sweet. Chocolate and malt with a little bitters in the trailer. A little light in the flavor intensity. Decent. Thanks to sparky27 for sending this one.

Courtesy of Gunhaver. Pours deep darkness with a thin tan head. The aroma is roasty with mild burnt malts, faint nuttiness and some alcohol heat. The taste is porter-like with notes of chocolate, fruit cake, vanilla and some tasty burnt malt notes. Very nice roasty to toffee to burnt malts into the finish. Yum.

Lactose aroma. A little sweet with more lactose in the aroma along with lightly roasted malt. Black in color and average palate. I don’t like lactose in my stouts but this one does an OK job with it.

Beautiful amber color, with a big creamy head. Sweet and fruity aroma (mango? apricot?) Then some herbal hop comes out. Good body structure, with sweet toffee flavor, and a fruity bitterness, but not extreme. Very good.
