Citrus hops and a food malt backbone. Dark amber pour with good head and lacing. Medium bitter finish. Touch of caramel. Tap at roofers union.

Alewife, Queens tap: Pours orange with a white head. Aroma is hoppy aroma, focused on the citrus. Not overly strong aroma though. Taste is slightly bitter. Rye malt backbone is definitely present. Well-balanced and easy to drink. Good show from Port City.

Very well done and generally another knock out beer for these guys. Comes close to their excellent porter. Do a few things but do them well. I like the theory. Pours black with mocha head and lacing. Bitter finish. Citrus hops evident. Thick consistency. Tap at RFD.

Draft pour at Novemberfest 2014. Poured a black color with a small tan head. Aroma was some nice pine notes, light roast. Flavor was very nice pine hop notes, with a lack of that burnt bitter character you get from so many different black IPAs.

Location: Growler from Superstar Beer City, 10/27/14
Aroma: The nose is citrus hops and spice/pepper mostly, with a bit of a grassy undertone
Appearance: Pours a murky orange color with a small ring of white head and some spotty lace
Flavor: The flavor is peppery as well, with a sweet juicy citrus flavor, and a mid-bitter finish
Palate: The body is medium, it has a soft-to-average carbonation, clean feel, and a mid-dry finish
Overall Impression: I actually found this to be a pretty tasty one. There isn't anything crazy going on here, just a simple, easy to drink, clean beer with a nice citrus flavor and a good peppery spice component too.

Big 40oz pour at Chef Geoff’s Downtown location. Pours a hazy burnt orange with some frothy, sticky, white head. Nose has bread and malt notes, orange, grapefruit, soap. Is the "northwest" tag a hint at Cascade hops, because I suspect a lot of them. Flavor follows along, mild sweetness, bread notes, cracker, orange, soap. Crisp finish, medium bitterness.

Drought. Amber color with creamy beige small head, light doughy aroma, low carbonation, slightly bitter hoppy taste, long finish. Nice but not great.

5-6 oz draft pour at Adroit Theory, leftover keg from their Best Of Festival the day before. Black with tan head with some brown hues. Aromas of light smoke, caramel, dark chocolate. Tastes of medium to light smoke, caramel, toffee, dark chocolate, light booze, syrup. Medium body with a dry and syrupy finish. Low carbonation. Aging pretty well, the smoke and meat/bacon-like notes I remember from having this fresh have faded quite a bit bringing out some of the sweetness. Would love to see them re-brew this to compare side by side with the original batch.
