(Can 50 cl) Clear mahogany with a reddish glow and a small, off-white head. Somewhat smoked, malty nose. Fairly full-bodied but not enough to hide the alcohol. Notes of roasted malt and a rather odd, unclean tang. A light, metallic edge and no real bitterness. 130806

A light yellow beer with a fast disappearing white head. The aroma is slightly sour and cardboardy - not very nice. The flavor is sweet but cardboardy, not very nice on the tongue, maybe OK, if it is all You can get and You are thirsty.

Bottle. Pale golden colour with a white head. Malty slightly grassy aroma. Smooth malty grassy flavor with some hints of bitterness. Dry aftertaste with some bitterness.

Can 0,5l. A large creamy tanned head. Some burned flavour but dominated by a sweet (and only sweet) aftertaste. Gives a rounded impression. Thanks to Rune for sharing his gift with me.

500ml can shared with Finn. Off-white, dense head, most of it diminishing. Dark brown. Aroma has weak elements of dark malts. Roasted and smoked flavour ending with a chocolate touch. Watery. (Imported from Izmir - thanks to Eva).

500ml can hand imported from Balcova, Izmir - thanks to Eva. Pale yellow. Creamy head rapidly fading to virtually no head. Fresh aroma of malt and hops. Most of the flavours are killed by an overdose of carbonation, but it is possible to detect some sweetness and corn. Thin body. Just another anonymous pale lager, but not really that bad. (My can had bb. 18.04.07 at 04.44).

Appealing 500ml Fici Bira bottle. Pale straw coloured. Fading white foam. Grainy malt aroma and some of that in a very minimal flavour too. Thin palate .Perhaps alright as thirst quencher but not in the cold summer up north (imported from Izmir - thanks to Eva).

Bottle picked up from Waitrose, Witney 10th July 2006. Had this last night whilst sat in the garden, not really impressed with yet another disappointing Pale Lager, thin, bland, little to taste the sort of comments that sum up most lagers. If I was sat in a beach bar in Bodrum, maybe this would have inadvertantly notched up an additional couple of points, through lack of alternatives, authenticity etc; but sat in my garden in Merton I could have chosen any one of a number of beers that would have bettered this.

Pour is a very dark red, I did not know the bottle was clear until I poured the beer into a glass. Aroma is caramel malts but you really have to use your imagination to find it. Flavor is a complete nothing. There is a touch of roastyness in there but nothing else. A complete waste of time.
