Light black topped with a beige head.
Nose is dark malts, chocolate, charr, dried fruit rinds.
Taste comprises chocolate shavings, modest barrel, ashen tones, dark fruit rinds, earthy.
Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a mellow barreled boost on offer.
Tidy sipper.

Pours amber with little to no head. Aroma of grain and botanicals. Taste has more grain, some spice. Palate has much of the same, some light hops, aromatics that linger on the nose. Good. Thanks to Dad for snagging this for me.

Bottle from Brewcraft at home on CNY 2022. Dark dark brown black pour, opaque. Light tan head. Aroma is sharp sour cherry, leather, wood, light smoke. Taste is bitter smokey roasted wood with dark fruit and sour cherry. Barrel aging hasn’t tamed the sour fruitiness. Not my favorite combination but not uninteresting. Palate is on the slightly heavy side of medium. Slight treacly sweetness in the finish, along with nice bitter bite and alcohol warmth. Not bad but wouldn’t get again.
