Mein Einstiegsbier zu einem weihnachtlich bierigen Abend. Ein schönes Dubbel belgischer Brauart aus der bekannten Brauerei aus Umbrien. Es hat tolle karamellmalzige Aromen und feine röstige Brotnoten und lässt sich trotz hohen Alkoholgehaltes gut trinken ohne zu beißen. Das einziges, das ich an diesem Bier bemängeln kann, ist dass es von den weihnachtlichen Gewürznoten nicht so fein intensiv ist, wie viele klassische Belgier. Dies macht es durch die oben erwähnten Karamellnoten aber gut wett. Kein ausgezeichnetes, aber doch ein gemütlich und schön zu trinkendes Bier.

An die großen Reliefflaschen der Brauerei Mastri Birrai Umbri kann ich mich bei einem Einkauf im Metro-Großmarkt Vösendorf bei Wien im Jahre 2014 erinnern. Jetzt bekomme ich das Bier in 0,33l-Flasche im Beisl serviert. Bislang kannte ich die Brauerei eher wegen ihrer schweren Böcke, dies ist das erste, das in Richtung Hopfigkeit geht. Es ist ein gutes, erfrischendes Hopfen-IPA mit einem spritzigen Charakter. Es macht gute Laune und geht angenehm die Kehle runter. Soweit so gut, vielmehr macht es aber nicht. Ein sehr gutes, wenn auch kein außergewöhnliches Bier.

Bottle from Corti Bros. Pours medium copper with a large creamy/foamy near-white head. Aroma is citrus - arguably grapefruit. Med body or so. It's definitely bitter. Flavor is citrus/grapefruit with some mildly roasty hop. Nice drink.

Hazy golden, small, foamy, white head. Aroma of honey, marmalade, ripe apricot, apple, plum, pear, wet pepper. Taste has sweet apple, pear & apricot over a malty base of honey & (white) bread, some spicy phenols. Floral hoppy finish, slightly grassy, spicy, more sweet ripe fruit that covers the boozy gin-like alcohol. Medium body, slick texture, average carbonation. Bit on the crude side but enjoyable.

Bottled 300ml. -Courtesy of hrabren, shared with kermis. Unclear yellow/pale golden coloured, small white head, vegetables and light grain in the nose. Weak malty, grainy, faint fruity and vegetables with watery palate. Short bitterish finish.

Bottle shared with Marko, Ogivlado and Hrabren, thanks! Fairly hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of herbs, veggies, malt, yeast and light citrus. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

Bottle from Corti Bros. Pours gold with a foamy white head. Aroma of citrus with light spice notes. Med body or nearly. Flavor is lightly bready with lemon and lite spice - tho not grass. Fairly dry. Very lightly bitter.
